I loved the original Buffy— that was my favorite show when I was a teenager. But does everything need to be rebooted? Do we not have original ideas anymore? I'm just tired of everything getting rebooted and the new version rarely lives up to the old version (with a few exceptions like Hawaii 5-0). I wish people could come up with something new. Sigh.

While it is disappointing that there hasn't been an announcement, we have to that all of these supposed announcement deadlines are just dates that have been decided by the fans. SJM hasn't let us down just because she didn't announce the next book on the tenth anniversary. She will, however, let us down if she rushes this book and ruins a story man of us have been waiting on for the better part of a decade.

As someone who read ACoTaR as it was released, I would honestly rather wait longer now and have a solid book of her usual storytelling quality than have this important installment messed up. I've been looking forward to finding some closure for Lucien and Elain (even if they're not endgame, though I personally believe they are) since the first time I read the end of ACoMaF almost a decade ago, and I would rather wait two more years than have her rush this story.

The last book she released, HoFaS, was rushed out the gate and it was by far the worst book she has ever written. So bad that I questioned whether she truly wrote it, or if she used AI to help her finish. It was full of dropped plot threads, character assassination of formerly beloved characters, and so, so many missed opportunities. It was terrible. I've never been so disappointed by a book in 40 years of reading. If the next ACoTaR book is like that, not only will I be painfully disappointed, I am honestly not even sure I can continue to call myself a fan.

All of the fans freaking out and jumping up and down is not going to make her put the book out faster. She'll tell us when it's ready.

The new ACoTaR book has been planned for many years. It has nothing to do with Black Jewels having a new book. I agree ACoTaR tips off Black Jewels in a lot of ways, but this is not one of them. We have literally been waiting on this book for years.

As someone whose father has Alzheimer's and who has watched him slip away, this scene hits SO hard. When it first aired, it was powerful, but after my dad's diagnosis it is downright devastating. Some of Jensen's finest work, for sure. And it honestly portrays the fear and despair of knowing your self is slipping away but being unable to do anything about it.
