In Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are two places where Link can get a clue about a statue trapped under the water and behind a stone gate. However, in the location hinted at, it first appears that there is no stone gate. To find it and learn about a new side quest, Link must get a little creative to reveal the hidden statue.
Side quests in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom have proven multiple ways to solve the puzzles and find solutions. Link often has many different ways of achieving the same goal due to the ability to craft various resources and the game’s vast traversal system. In this case, Link will have to do a little of both to find the statue, which will start a new side quest for him to finish.
Finding The Statue's Location In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
There are two main places where Link can get a hint about the hidden statue. The first is in the Temple of Time, located on the Great Plateau. Entering the Temple of Time and speaking to the Goddess Statue will give Link the message about the statue. Similarly, just beneath the Temple of Time in the Depths map in Zelda: TOTK is a mine sitting just south of Nogukoyk Lightroot. There is a Bargainer Statue here that, if spoken to, will also give Link the message.
The best way to reach the Temple of Time is by paragliding from the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower.
Head to the Great Plateau North Chasm from either of the above locations. Players might be confused as no clear stone gate can be seen at the hinted location. Instead, a massive stone wall encircles the entire Great Plateau. Players are looking for the only body of water that rests against the stone wall, as seen in the image below.
Solving The Hidden Statue Puzzle
This is where Link can get creative to empty the pond. On the wall is a section where two winged statues sit. Link should head to the bottom of the wall where the pond meets it. There will be a section of cracked rocks in the wall. Use some form of explosive, such as a fused weapon or Zelda: TOTK's Bomb Flower, to blow up that section of the wall that will drain the pond.
When the pond has fully drained, Link can enter and find a small statue. Speaking to this statue will send Link back to the Goddess Statue in the Temple of Time. Following this prompting and returning to talk to the statue again will start the A Call From The Depths Side Quest in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which Link will be handsomely rewarded for finishing.
