A fan-made different versions of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Along with the original, the game was re-released on the GameCube as part of The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, and was followed by a Nintendo 3DS remake.
The most recently released version of Ocarina of Time is the Nintendo Switch port that launched alongside the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service last year. The latest subscription service tier gives subscribers access to a growing library of classic N64 and SEGA titles, including Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Ecco the Dolphin, and Streets of Rage 2, among several others. Even though it’s a port of the original release, the Nintendo Switch Online version of Ocarina of Time differs from its N64 version. The changes have unfortunately led to some negative reviews of the port, with many believing it to be perhaps the worst way to experience the game.
A new way to play Zelda: Ocarina of Time could be just months away, according to reproduced Ocarina of Time in C-code, which enabled other developers, such as Harbour Masters, to begin working on ports and succeeding mods for the game.
When Harbour Masters’ port of Ocarina of Time releases, fans may finally be able to play a recent port of the game that isn't on original Nintendo hardware. In the meantime, fans can also look forward to playing the Nintendo Switch port of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, which was recently announced for release next month. However, with complaints over the Ocarina of Time Switch port, it wouldn’t be surprising that some would be concerned that Majora’s Mask may also end up the same way.
If the Harbour Masters The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time port proves successful, it may also open the door to a Zelda: Majora’s Mask port with modern improvements in the future, which will not only allow long-time Zelda fans to replay the games on PC but also open the door to those who have yet to experience the games.
