of The Wild is one of the Nintendo Switch's biggest video games. This guide will help players explore the post-game content available in this already massive title. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild released as the Nintendo Switch launch title back in 2017. The game released with critical and financial acclaim, stating that this entry defined what it meant to be a Zelda title for a more modern, open-world experience. In this title, Hyrule has fallen to the entity known as Calamity Ganon and Guardians, these robotic crab-like creatures, run around the Great Plateau causing mischief and mayhem where ever they appear. It is up to Link, the main character who has been in comatose for over 100 years, to get out there and save Princess Zelda from within Hyrule Castle. The neat thing about this title is its massive amount of replayability of giving the player the freedom to tackle the game however they'd like. Would the player like to explore Hyrule Castle and face Calamity Ganon at the very start of the game? They can do that (it will be extremely difficult but it is possible). The game allows players to explore every corner of this new open world, offering secrets and hidden items for players to find. Although, after beating Calamity Ganon and saving the world, there's still much left to do in the world of Hyrule. This guide will help players explore the post-game of Zelda: Breath of The Wild.
To beat the game, all the player has to do is defeat Calamity Ganon inside of Hyrule Castle. Here, he has been sealed away and needs to be ultimately destroyed for the world to make efforts to return back to normal. Players will make this trip much easier on themselves by rescuing the Divine Beast, machines created as a defense mechanism for Hyrule. Four are scattered around in vastly different biomes around Hyrule. The full meat of the game is to rescue all of the Divine Beast, then take on Calamity Ganon, but there's still so much more to do in this world. As the player explores, they will stumble across shrines. Inside these shrines are mini-dungeons with puzzles to solve and there are over 100 scattered around Hyrule. These are not required to complete the game, but players will find themselves inside these shrines every chance they get. These can also be completed in the post-game as well. Here's what players can accomplish in the post-game of Breath of The Wild.
Link's Lost Memories in Zelda: Breath of The Wild
While the story within Zelda: Breath of the Wild is fairly limited, there are certain events in the game that help build on the existing story. Lost memories are scattered around Hyrule for the player to find. Each time the player finds one, they will receive a cutscene showing off what our hero was up to before the calamity occurred. This is a great way to get a better look at all the characters the game has to offer and since there's only a few to find, this one shouldn't be too hard to get done.
Finding All Korok Seeds in Zelda: Breath of The Wild
This is easily the most challenging side event in the game. Korok Seeds are hidden all around Hyrule in the air, under rocks, beneath rivers, and even in small patches of grass. This is only recommended for players who have the patience to pull off something like this, as there are 900 total seeds to find in the game. Finding all of these without a guide will be nearly impossible and may take the player hundreds of hours to complete, but for players who wish to spend more time within this game world, this is the perfect distraction.
Complete Side Quest in Zelda: Breath of The Wild
The game contains 76 sidequests for the player to explore and teach taps into the stranger sides of Hyrule. Each sidequest comes along with its own characters to interact with and rewards the player with food or money. Look around the map for players with special markings over their heads as these will yield side quests for the player to participate in. Whether if it is putting a couple together at a heart-shaped lake or buying a house, the side quest variety is decently sized for a game like this.
Zelda: Breath of The Wild DLC
Players can extend their time in Hyrule by looking into the Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild Expansion DLC. This DLC comes with two different packs, one that contains the Master Trials and another with the Champion's Ballad. This is more story content for the player to enjoy and continues the challenge of staying alive and being crafty. Each pack comes with new destinations to explore, bosses, weapons, armor, and a Hero's Path Mode, which lays out the steps the player has taken while playing the game. Without stepping into spoilers, the player is given an extremely cool item for completing both DLC packs. The DLC is currently available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop for $19.99 USD.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild is one of Nintendo's most important games. Not only is it a fantastic time for players of all ages, but it also shows that Nintendo still has the ability to evolve and innovate with its three-decade-old series. This shift goes right back to the original Legend of Zelda back in the NES, where players had the option to explore any direction at any time. The game shifted into a more story-heavy, stream-lined development with no release window being available. Jumping into the world of Breath of The Wild is a heavy time investment because the moment the player decides to step into that world, it will be hard to pull them out.
Zelda: Breath of The Wild is available now on Nintendo Switch.
