Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of the most popular anime franchises in existence. Out of all the series, which one can be considered the most well-written?

10 Negate Attack

A Simple but Effective Defense

While Jaden is known for being a proactive and aggressive duelist, never backing down from a fight, even he needed to have tools in case he needed a strong defense. His most powerful defensive trap was the simple but outstandingly effective Negate Attack.

Whenever an opponent would choose one of Jaden’s monsters as an attack target, this card would activate, preventing that battle from taking place. The entire battle phase for that turn would be skipped, preventing the adversary from trying to destroy any other monsters. The only issue with this card would be how vulnerable it was to any kind of removal, as it required an attack to be declared before activating.

9 Elemental Hero Plasma Vice

A Hero That Could Deal Damage and Destroy Problematic Monsters

One of the most powerful and versatile Fusions found in Jaden’s Extra Deck is undoubtedly the imposing Elemental Hero Plasma Vice. A combination of his iconic Sparkman and the fierce Bladedge, this monster had the best of both heroes combined into one.

When attacking a monster in a defensive position, Plasma Vice could inflict damage equal to the difference between his Attack and the monster's Defense. With this creature having an impressive 2800 attack points, the damage dealt to the opponent was often considerable. It also could destroy any other creature in the field, simply by having Jaden send a card from his hand to the grave.

On Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Jaden's optimism and headstrong qualities are displayed in his duels and through his choice of cards in his deck.

8 Honest

Capable Of Boosting The Power Of Its Allies

Despite his angelic and peaceful appearance, Honest is among the best offensive tools Jaden had in his deck. Given to him by the Duel Spirit of Honest himself before his final duel against the agent of Darkness, this card helped Jaden win the most difficult duels.

By sending it from his hand to the grave when an opponent would target a Light attribute monster with an attack, Jaden could give his monster a boost in power. The attack points of the targeted monster would increase by the same amount of power as the attacking creature. This allowed Jaden to defeat his final antagonist’s most powerful monsters, protecting his creatures from destruction at the same time.

7 Winged Kuriboh LV10

This Adorable Creature Could Destroy Entire Fields

The original Winged Kuriboh was gifted to Jaden by Yugi Muto himself during the first episode of the series. While this creature helped the protagonist greatly, his evolved form left a lasting memory in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX fans’ minds. Jaden would grant his friend a new strength by utilizing the spell card Transcendent Wings and discarding two cards.

During the Battle Phase, Jaden could tribute his Winged Kuriboh LV10 to destroy all monsters on the opponent’s side of the field. Then, the adversary would take damage equal to the combined attack of all creatures obliterated by the adorable furball. While it was only used once, during the duel against Chazz, Winged Kuriboh LV10 was powerful enough to grant Jaden the victory in a duel that seemed already lost.

6 Miracle Fusion

A Way To Reuse Monsters In The Graveyard

Jaden is a duelist who focuses mostly on fusing his monsters to create powerful creatures. As such, his graveyard is often full of creatures that were used to bring out another powerful being. Miracle Fusion, one of Jaden’s most powerful spells, allowed him to use those creatures again.

When activated, the young duelist would be able to use cards in his graveyard as materials for a new Fusion Monster. Jaden would often use this spell to use his previously destroyed merged creatures to invoke even more powerful monsters. This card would make effective use of creatures that would otherwise not help Jaden during a duel, giving him even more freedom when planning his next move.

5 Rainbow Neos

The Embodiment of the Bond Between Jaden and Jesse

Born from the deep bond between Jaden and Jesse, Rainbow Neos is one of the most beautiful and memorable Fusions in the young man’s arsenal. To use this creature, Jaden would need to fuse his ace monster, Elemental Hero Neos, with his best friend’s Rainbow Dragon.

By sending a card from either their field or deck to the graveyard, the can wipe the opponent’s field from a specific type of card. This effect often leaves the field completely open for a direct attack. Seeing as Rainbow Neos has 4500 attack points, one of the highest amounts in all Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, a single hit could win Jaden the game.

4 Neos Wiseman

An Imposing Creature That Could Deal Vast Amounts Of Damage

When the powers of the Supreme King and his loyal protector combine, a powerful and fearsome warrior is born. Neos Wiseman is the result of Jaden merging his Elemental Hero Neos and Yubel, the physical embodiment of his precious and trusted partner. As such, this card is the representation of their mutual devotion and trust.

Whenever this monster is attacked or chooses to battle an opponent’s creature, Jaden would deal damage to his adversary equal to the enemy creature’s attack points. He would immediately gain the same amount of life points, turning Neos Wiseman into an incredibly dangerous creature to fight against. In case it would ever be destroyed, a Yubel card could be banished from the graveyard to summon a Neos directly to the field.

3 Elemental Hero Divine Neos

The Ultimate Hero In Of Power

When everything else fails, Jaden has a powerful warrior waiting to be convoked into the field to help him defeat the most dangerous of enemies, Elemental Hero Divine Neos. This creature was born from the merging of most of Jaden’s strongest monsters, being the embodiment of his skill, ion, and might as a duelist.

Neos’ unique form comes with an incredibly useful ability that helped Jaden defeat Darkness during the last duel of the series. By banishing a Neo-Spacian monster from the deck, Divine Neos could gain that creature’s effect and utilize it for the rest of the turn. The warrior would also gain 500 attack points for each banished creature. Due to this effect not having any restrictions, Jaden could use it as much as he wanted, turning Divine Neos into one of the most powerful monsters in the series.

2 Sabatiel – The Philosopher’s Stone

A Card Imbued With The Power Of Alchemy

Gifted to Jaden by his mentor and the first obstacle in his journey to become one of the best duelists, Sabatiel is among the most powerful spells in all the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. This card is the embodiment of alchemy itself, allowing the to transform it into whichever card they wished for up to three times. This is by far one of the most useful skills a card can have, as Jaden could instantly obtain the perfect card to overcome any opponent.

Still, the card had another less popular but equally significant effect, as it would multiply the attack of one of Jaden’s monsters by the number of creatures his opponent controlled. With such a powerful ability to obtain cards by just wishing it, and an attack increase capable of winning any game, Sabatiel stood as one of GX’s best tools for any duelist.

1 Super Polymerization

A Spell That Could Alter Reality Itself

Few cards in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime could influence the world outside a duel. One of the most powerful, Super Polymerization, was owned by Jaden, having acquired it during his previous life as the Supreme King. This incredibly strong Fusion Spell allows the to combine two or more monsters from anywhere on the field, being a perfect way to get rid of an opponent’s powerful creature. This effect was so strong, that the TCG counterpart of Super Polymerization was prohibited from being played for many years.

Yet, the card can also combine objects, living creatures, or even dimensions, as proven by Yubel hoping to acquire the card and create a new universe. Super Polymerization was imbued with the power of the Gentle Darkness, giving it control over the laws of reality itself. This is without a doubt the most powerful and terrifying tool Jaden had under his control.
