eagerly await the show's seventh season. In it, Liza Miller lies about her age for years in order to obtain and keep a steady job in the publishing industry. It turns into much more than a job. Liza loves her work, and she loves the people who fill her new life.

The hallmark of the half-hour dramedy is Liza's interest in two men, one in his late twenties, and the other into his forties. The former is a young tattoo artist named Josh, and the latter is Liza's boss, Charles. Josh often gets the short end of the stick, but he does the kindest things for Liza.

Gets To Know Her

Longtime Younger fans will that Josh is one of the first pieces of Liza's new life. She lives in his neighborhood, she hangs out at his favorite bars, and she wants to be loved as much as he does. The fact that Josh takes the time to get to know Liza says a lot about his character, even though he doesn't get the full story for a while.

Forgives Her For Lying

Josh is understandably upset when Liza abruptly tells him the truth about her age. This woman he loved was not entirely who she said she was, and Josh has to deal with that in his own way. He is very kind to forgive Liza for lying and give her another chance. It isn't easy for him, and he finds that it's like starting over, in some ways.

Invites Her Into His World

Josh on Younger

Before and after Liza comes clean, Josh makes his relationship with her inclusive of his identity. He doesn't try to shut her out of his everyday world. Liza knows his friends and plays video games with them, and she and Josh create a social group of their own with Maggie, Kelsey, and Lauren.

When Josh is the subject of a magazine profile, he wants to mention Liza and include her in the celebration, but she refuses for fear that the world will learn her secret.

Willingly Enters Her World

Josh doesn't limit his and Liza's adventures to Brooklyn or Manhattan. Although their social circles there are important to them, Liza and Josh both agree that there is more to life. She has mixed feelings about her New Jersey past, but Liza tries to stay in touch with her old friends there. Josh agrees to accompany Liza to a Jersey dinner party and gets her home safely after she finishes off a pot lollipop.

Accepts Her Past Experiences

Even though Josh dives into Liza's world, he struggles with the fact that she has lived so much more life than he has. After a marriage and nearly two decades of childrearing, Liza has different experiences than Josh has. It is really sweet of him to let go of that a little and love her for who she is.

Proposes To Her With Rose Petals

When Liza goes away on a work conference, Josh is ready to pop the big question. After all they have been through together, he can't see himself with anyone else. Liza has no idea of Josh's intentions and is out having fun with Charles at a conference. While she is out, Josh is busy preparing a beautiful proposal for Liza in her guest room, complete with "Marry Me" rose petals.

Liza and Charles return and share a kiss just as Josh turns the corner with champagne. Josh sees them kissing and slowly backs away, hurt and hoping not to be seen. The whole event is mortifying for him, and he gave that proposal his all.

Lets Her Back Into His Life

Josh is so angry and wounded over seeing Liza cheat on him with Charles. Fans understand that he doesn't want anything to do with her for a while. He is cold when he sees her, unwilling to make small talk and be friends. That all changes when Liza asks to be in his life again. Some viewers find this weird and unnecessary. Hasn't Josh gone through enough? Even so, Josh agrees to be friends with Liza.

Tries To Move On

Throughout the process of losing Liza as a lover and regaining her as a friend, Josh tries his best to move on from their relationship. This is good for him in some ways, but it is great for Liza, who shows that she wants to be with Charles. By moving on and getting married, Josh sends a message that he is okay, even if he's really not.

Trusts Liza With Gemma

One of Younger's sweetest surprises of the later seasons is that Josh becomes a dad. Gemma is everything to Josh, and he does his best to provide for her and take good care of her. Liza loves babies, and Josh trusts her with his own before she is even born. This means so much to Liza and cements her too-friendly bond with Josh during a difficult time with Charles. Oddly enough, Liza still tries to walk away from anything that has to do with Josh.

Won't Let Liza Say Goodbye

Josh and Liza are left at a crossroads. She wants them to part ways and cease to be friends, but Josh can't take that for an answer. In that encounter at Diana's wedding, he impresses on Liza the importance of what they've been through together. He gives her a chance to stay connected to him, and Liza seems to need this.
