It’s such a different story. The common ground is the landscape. We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens, so it feels like another facet of this cut stone that has been polished. There are parallels in the scope of landscape and a human being’s place in that space, but it’s coming at it from a completely different point of view.

It's Another Big Cast For The Taylor Sheridan Franchise
Official reports describe The Madison as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection.” The story focuses on a New York family in the Madison River valley of central Montana, but little else is confirmed outside that general logline. The Madison also stars Lost alum Matthew Fox, Suits star Patrick J. Adams, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, and Elle Chapman. There are also reports that veteran actor Kurt Russell is ing the project, though that has not yet been officially announced.
Though it may be loosely connected by story or theme, early reports indicate viewers won't have to follow Yellowstone to enjoy The Madison.

The main Western series is in a bit of an uncertain state, with Yellowstone season 6 rumored but so far unconfirmed. It may be the case that more links are still yet to be revealed between the Duttons and The Madison. But as of right now, the spinoff sounds like a largely standalone drama focused on a new family.
