Netflix's delightful romantic dramedy series XO, Kitty returned for a second season in early 2025, and now the To All the Boys spinoff has been renewed for season 3. Centered on the title character who originally appeared in the aforementioned movies, the show follows Kitty (Anna Cathcart) as she travels to Korea to attend the prestigious boarding school where her mother was once a student. Though she originally travels all the way across the globe to be with her long-distance boyfriend, Kitty can't help but play matchmaker for her fellow students while also trying to figure out her own path.

A critical darling from day one, XO, Kitty is just the sort of low-stakes romantic entertainment that helped make Netflix the premiere destination for the genre. XO, Kitty season 2 catches up with the love-struck teen as she tries to sort out her complicated feelings for Yuri in the wake of Min Ho's declaration of love at the end of season 1. Season 2 proves that, though Kitty has great matchmaking advice for others, she is still woefully unprepared to sort out her own love-life. This leads to an engaging sophomore outing that promises an even better season 3.

Proving that the series is quickly becoming one of the streamer's biggest hits, the latest news confirms that XO, Kitty season 3 has been confirmed. Appropriately enough, Netflix made the announcement on February 14, 2024 (Valentine's Day) by sharing a cute video on X (formerly Twitter) of star Anna Cathcart receiving the first season 3 scripts. This announcement comes around a month after season 2 arrived on Netflix, and the early renewal suggests the streamer's urgency to get the romantic show back on the air as fast as possible.

The fate of XO, Kitty season 3 didn't hang in limbo for long, and Netflix opted to renew the show in February 2025. Around a month after season 2 dropped all of its episodes, Netflix swiftly ordered season 3, though little is currently known about the outing. Since Netflix made their decision so quickly, it stands to reason that they are hoping to get XO, Kitty back on the air as quickly as possible, potentially avoiding the delays which kept season 2 away for longer than expected.

XO, Kitty season 2 premiered on January 16, 2025.

Who Returns To KISS For Another Semester?

Because nothing particularly shocking happens in a romantic dramedy like XO, Kitty, it's possible that the entire cast of season 2 could reprise their roles in season 3 as well. Because she's the show's namesake, it's all but certain that Anna Cathcart will be back to reprise her role as the love-struck matchmaker herself, Kitty Song-Covey. Meanwhile, with a potential love triangle brewing, Gia Kim will likely return as Yuri Han, while Sang Heon Lee will again play Min Ho Kang. After her plan was foiled in season 2, it's unclear if newcomer Audrey Huynh will be back to play the scheming Stella.

One Chapter Ends, Another Begins In Season 3

The group of friends looks shocked at Kitty in XO, Kitty season 2

Kitty was very busy during the events of XO, Kitty season 2, and her romantic interest sort of took a back seat to her Quixotic quest to reunite her family. Through determination and pluck, Kitty was able to bring her Korean family together during the ending of XO, Kitty season 2, something that her mother traveled all the way to Korea to do many years before. This sense of accomplishment should help Kitty feel more confident going forward, especially as she enters uncertain times romantically.

Kitty is set to Min Ho's family for their summer tour, meaning sparks are almost guaranteed to fly between them.

As she was dealing with familial strife, Kitty was also caught in an awkward spot as she pined away for Yuri while also realizing that she sees Min Ho as more than just a friend. XO, Kitty season 3 may see her explore her options, which could lead to some hurt feelings in the long run. If she does end up choosing one or the other, she risks alienating someone she considers a close friend. Regardless, Kitty is set to Min Ho's family for their summer tour, meaning sparks are almost guaranteed to fly between them.
