These reports were corroborated by Insider Gaming, who have stated that several outlets had been given the heads up on the news and had signed NDAs. These claims follow a further report from The Verge’s Tom Warren that Bethesda was considering bringing the new Indiana Jones title to the PlayStation 5 back in February and would align with Microsoft's recent multiplatform strategy.

This proved to be an extremely successful move for Microsoft, with Sea of Thieves topping the PlayStation charts upon its launch due to such high demand.

However, these were all titles that had been on the market for at least a year, which would make the decision to launch Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on other consoles within months of the Xbox and PC launch a surprising move. However, having seen the success multiplatform launches can bring, Microsoft may be looking to narrow that window and get this additional revenue sooner.
