The first images of the long-rumored Xbox handheld device have seemingly leaked, supposedly by an FCC listing. Earlier this year, a report indicated that Microsoft was working on a portable, handheld version of its signature Xbox console. Codenamed "Keenan," the device was reported to be heading for a 2025 release.
Based on the new images, it seems possible that the project is indeed nearing completion and preparing for a reveal soon. 91mobiles today shared listings for the ROG Ally 2, which were then linked to an FCC page thanks to VideoCardz (via The Verge). Here, an image of an Xbox-branded ASUS handheld is clearly shown, suggesting this may be the hardware Xbox and ASUS have been working on.
The images show a black and a white version of the boxy handheld device with controller-like grips along its sides separated by a wide screen, but only one bears the Xbox logo - at least for now. According to the leak, Microsoft's console will be a second iteration of the Ally handheld device by ROG, a gamer-centric ASUS brand.

Everything We Know About Xbox's Handheld Console
Partial Specs And Visuals Revealed In Leak
The rumored Xbox handheld console will finally allow Microsoft to bridge the gap between the console market and the PC market, with a platform that will allow players to take their games on the go. According to the information revealed in the leak, the black console with the Xbox logo will have a 120Hz LCD, 7-inch display, with an 8-core, 36W AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme U.
The white console will have a 4-core, 20W chip, which is less powerful, and could suggest a similar difference as with the Xbox Series X vs Series S, where the original black model is the more powerful.

Can The Alleged Xbox Handheld Compete With Industry Stand-Outs?
The Device Will Be Windows' First Foray Into The Handheld Market
Microsoft finally seems poised to enter the handheld gaming market for the first time, which is a double-edged sword. On one hand, the Xbox handheld will be competing against well-established devices already on the market, including the PlayStation Portal, Steam Deck, and the recently revealed Nintendo Switch 2. On the other hand, coming into the game late has given the company a chance to study the market and existing devices and figure out what works.
By partnering with a well-known handheld company with a proven track record, Microsoft stands out as a strong contender for gamers' next handheld purchase. The device will feature the latest and best tech from ASUS, giving it an edge against older models like the 2022 Steam Deck in an industry that's moving so fast that a year or two can have a huge difference.
At the moment, no release date or official reveal has been shared for the Xbox handheld. At the end of the day, the device's success may hinge on its full spec list and the prices for the two versions that appear to be in the works.
