current-gen upgrades for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The latter has made playing the game on console smoother and prettier than ever before, shrinking the gap between performance on PC and console significantly.

The official Xbox Twitter also revealed another thing the console has that Sony doesn't - a particular Guinness World Record for largest projected video game display. In a video highlighting how Xbox achieved the feat, Destiny 2 takes center stage, getting projected onto the side of a mountaintop at one of the highest elevation projection levels ever produced as well. The total projected area was 19,090 ft², which is quite obviously a step up from most home gaming setups.

Of course, there are a few questions lingering about the Xbox world record achievement that it chose to share with Destiny 2. Why is that player not wearing gloves? They're on top of a mountain. Surely that's going to impact their ability to input commands on a controller with the speed required of a high-end Destiny 2 raid. Also, what's the impact lag like on a projection that big on the side of a literal mountain? Inquiring gamers want to know.

As it stands, though, the Xbox Guinness World Record - shared with a Destiny 2 that more than deserves the spotlight after its newfound quality has become apparent - is a fun stunt that highlights a console and game that both sit, with some company, at the mountaintop of their respective fields. It'll be interesting to see if Sony and PlayStation start a game of one-upsmanship from here. With a pretty barren release schedule for both consoles and plenty of delays for exciting exclusives already, it would be a welcome competition in lieu of the actual one surrounding game sales that will begin in earnest soon.
