Thanks to the mutant X-gene, the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe. However, even their beefiest bruisers end up outshone by the who can warp reality or read every mind on Earth at the same time. That's why in this list we're looking purely at physical strength. Without psychic abilities and control over cosmic energy, which of the X-Men can still crush a Sentinel into a steel ball with their bare hands?
We're looking at the strongest heroes on the X-Men roster, not taking into characters who are traditionally aligned against Marvel's mutants. Because while names like Apocalypse and Sebastian Shaw pack one hell of a punch, right now it's the good guys' time to shine.
10 Monet/Penance
The Mutant Leader of X-Corp
A member of the class of mutant heroes dubbed 'Generation X,' Monet St. Croix operates under the codenames of both M and - in her spikier, redder form - Penance. Monet possesses an array of powers, including flight, telepathy, and an enhanced physique. When she adopts her Penance form - which is tied to her brother's parasitic powers - she also gains super-durable skin and razor-sharp claws.
Monet can punch through a brick wall as if it's nothing, but what makes her so beloved by fans is that she's X-Men's biggest snob. Never settling for less than she's worth, Monet was hand-selected by Charles Xavier to act as a founding member of X-Corp - a business-focused team of mutants who fought to keep mutantkind's coffers full. She also has connections to X-Factor and the Avengers' Unity Division, aka the Uncanny Avengers.

A Complete Ranking of X-Men's Omega Level Mutants From Weakest to Strongest
Meet every single Omega-level character in X-Men lore, in Screen Rant's definitive guide to Marvel's most powerful mutants of all time.
9 Frenzy
S.W.O.R.D.'s Ambassador Extraordinary and Head Badass
Joanna Cargill was once a true believer in Magneto's anti-human philosophy, but has since become an irreplaceable member of the X-Men. Thanks to her enhanced physique, Frenzy is both superstrong and incredibly durable, and has gone blow for blow against She-Hulk herself. An accomplished cynic, Frenzy has doubts about the X-Men's dream, but she's worked as hard as anyone to it, even becoming Earth's Ambassador Extraordinary as a member of the mutant space agency known as S.W.O.R.D.
8 Sunspot
One of the Few X-Men to Also Become an Avenger
Roberto Da Costa is a business genius who knows the value of a good alliance. It's therefore not surprising that since being introduced to the X-Men as a member of the New Mutants, he's gone on to be d with SHIELD, X-Force, the Hellfire Club, the Hellions, the Avengers, and even A.I.M. (having bought out the villainous group to turn them into a force for good.) Sunspot is constantly absorbing solar radiation, with the absorbed energy contributing to his physical strength, as well as allowing for energy blasts and flight.
Sunspot is incredibly strong even on a bad day, but the disease known as M-Pox unlocked his full potential, turning him into one of the strongest beings in Marvel lore - albeit a state he couldn't survive occupying for long. Sunspot also has major connections to the Shi'ar Empire, and is one of the few multiplanetary businessmen in Marvel lore - a feat even Tony Stark hasn't really achieved.

X-Men: The 10 Most Powerful 'Beyond Omega Level' Mutants, Ranked
X-Men's most powerful mutants are termed 'Omega-level,' but there IS a category beyond even that - one precious few heroes have achieved.
7 Strong Guy
X-Factor's Muscle Has a Truly Punishing Superpower
A fixture of the hero team X-Factor, Guido Carosella is so strong that it's literally his codename. Guido's mutant power is to absorb kinetic energy, meaning the harder he's hit, the harder he hits. Sadly, because his body has to warp to accommodate the stored energy, he has to deal out damage quickly, letting energy go as fast as possible. Strong Guy is in constant pain thanks to how his powers have warped his body, and it quickly grows unbearable when he taps too much strength at the same time.
That's a major limitation that stops Strong Guy from being able to cut loose with his powers, but it doesn't stop him from being able to trade blows with the Thing and Red Hulk as an equal, making him one of the strongest mutants in X-Men canon.
6 Iceman
This Founding X-Man Takes a Surprising Route to Immense Strength
Iceman is an odd inclusion on this list, but Robert Drake has more than earned it. Bobby's powers originally manifested as the ability to shift his body into an icy form, but he's never stopped developing and expanding his powers in the years since Xavier recruited him. Today, Iceman can essentially create and occupy any kind of ice body he wants. That includes becoming a gigantic titan bigger than a skyscraper, or even crafting 100 human-sized bodies at once and controlling them all towards the same goal.
Usually when a superhero has the strength of 100 people, it's all in one body, but Iceman's versatility means he's actually able to use his strength more creatively than anyone else on this list. And even when he's feeling lazy, he can wail on mutantkind's enemies with giant ice fists.

10 Most Powerful X-Men Characters Who Are Related to Mystique (Ranked Weakest to Strongest)
X-Men's Mystique is connected to many of Marvel's most iconic mutants, including Nightcrawler, Rogue, Destiny and... Deadpool?!
5 Namor
Marvel's First Mutant Is Still Among the Strongest
On his best day, when he's well hydrated and has access to a major water source, Namor is capable of matching the Hulk in of strength. He's fought everyone from Thanos to Thor hand to hand, all while carrying the undersea nation of Atlantis on his shoulders (at least figuratively.) Namor's immense power comes from being a human/Atlantean hybrid, with the human half also being a mutant - indeed, he's been nicknamed Marvel's first mutant in past comics.
Namor doesn't always consider himself an X-Men ally - it depends how he feels about their current leader - but whenever he's with the team, he's unquestionably their strongest member.
4 Colossus
The X-Men's Traditional Muscle Is Still Worthy of the Role
It's impressive that 50 years after being introduced to the franchise, Colossus is still among the strongest characters to exist in X-Men lore. Piotr Rasputin's mutant gift allows him to shift his skin into an organic metal state, as well as granting him the immense strength needed not just to lift his limbs, but to throw one of the meanest right hooks on the planet. While he's not quite on the same level as the Hulk, Colossus has mixed it up with the strongest beings on the planet, drawing blood from everyone from the Juggernaut to Apocalypse.
3 Juggernaut
The X-Men's Former Enemy Is a Superstrong Non-Mutant
While Juggernaut famously isn't a mutant, he is a frequent member of the X-Men, currently serving on Cyclops' Alaska-based roster. Cain Marko is the step-brother of Charles Xavier and started off hating his mutant students. However, in the years since Juggernaut has begrudgingly embraced the cause of mutant rights, now fighting alongside the heroes he used to battle against. Juggernaut's powers are connected to the demon lord Cyttorak, who traditionally feeds Cain more power the more destruction he causes. Thankfully, due to the frequency of battles they're involved in, superheroes cause even more destruction than supervillains.
2 Gentle
Hulk Strength with a Major Drawback
Nezhno Abidemi is a Wakandan mutant and potentially Marvel's strongest man alive. His mutant ability allows him to vastly increase his muscle-mass, with his average strength rivaling that of Colossus. However, even that is just his default - if Gentle pushes his powers, Beast has speculated that he could achieve the same level of strength and durability as the Hulk (as stated in 2018's X-Men: Red #2.)
Sadly, like Strong Guy, Gentle's powers put a huge amount of strain on his body. Warping his physical form causes pain equal to the increased mass, and it's entirely possible for Gentle's powers to kill him if he pushes them too far. Gentle is covered in adamantium-infused tattoos to help him harness and control his abilities, but it's predicted his abilities will still eventually kill him.
1 Rogue
The Leader of the Uncanny X-Men Has the Combined Strength of Two Avengers
As our surprise #1, Rogue proves yet again that no-one should ever underestimate X-Men's southern belle. Rogue has had superstrength since she absorbed Captain Marvel's powers during a tragic fight with a young Carol Danvers, badly injuring the hero and taking many of her abilities and memories. However, she later replaced her stolen abilities with those of Wonder Man, who voluntarily gifted Rogue his powers to help save the planet. Recently - in 2024's Uncanny X-Men #4 - Rogue revealed that this wasn't a simple swap. While she's been keeping it on the down-low, she still has some of Captain Marvel's strength, adding it to that of Wonder Man.
Captain Marvel is strong enough to push the moon out of orbit, while Wonder Man is one of the strongest beings to ever serve on the Avengers, making Rogue a powerhouse almost without compare. Thankfully, she's currently putting her immense strength to great use over in Uncanny X-Men, where she's both leading a team of heroic mutants and training the next generation of X-gene-powered good guys.
