In of debuts and modern stars, no one has stood out as more dominant and more violent than Jacob Fatu, the Bloodline member and current WWE United States Champion, beating LA Knight at WrestleMania 41. Debuting last June on SmackDown as a part of Solo Sikoa's Bloodline faction, Fatu has spent the past year proving himself to be one of the most agile and feared of the roster.
With such a major push right out of the gate and such a massive swell of ground from the fans, Fatu is destined to be at the top of the card by next WrestleMania season with this current momentum, and he is fully aware of how far he's come. When asked by Alex Lajas of Instinct Culture about his thoughts on how far he's come in his career since June, Fatu replied, "Every day. Every day when I wake up, I'm thankful for it. It's more than just accomplishing things. I think it ain't how you start, it's how you finish."
Fatu had a major win at Cody Rhodes, here are 5 next potential opponents for Jacob Fatu that will continue to help launch him into mega stardom with WWE.
1 Carmelo Hayes
A Strong Showing That Would Help Build Both Men
As this year's winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, Carmelo Hayes is still a work in progress, connecting with The Miz to help him grow his profile as part of the SmackDown roster. His more recent showings with the returning Aleister Black, as well as his series of matches with Andrade have proven that all Hayes needs is opportunity and momentum, and he will be a force in WWE.
Hayes becoming the next opponent for Fatu will not only help elevate both of their profiles with the brand and the company, but also give the fans an athletic, high-flying program while Hayes works for his first singles gold on the main roster. Fatu and Hayes would be a spectacular showing, and as long as The Miz can guide him in the right direction, its the fans that will win on this matchup.
2 Bronson Reed
This Is A Match That Big E Should Call
Speaking of spectacular showings, one of the dark horse candidates for Superstar of the Year is Bronson Reed, who became part of 2024's WarGames match with Fatu at Survivor Series, and showed out in a major way until a foot injury during the match sidelined him through 2025 so far. Reed is likely to return very soon depending on how much work is left on his rehabilitation, and with the WWE Draft reportedly coming soon, Reed could be moved to the blue brand and, potentially, into a feud with Fatu.
Outside of being one of the most "big meaty men slapping meat" matches in the history of WWE, Reed and Fatu have an easy build to a storyline together, with Reed feeling slighted by Fatu after the WarGames match and not feeling like he was ed enough after putting his body on the line for the Bloodline. Fatu and Reed would undoubtedly be an absolutely crazy spectacle, and would allow both men to again show just how agile big men can be in WWE these days while putting on a dynamic and violent showing.
3 Rey Fenix
WWE's Newest Superstar Could Show And Prove
Another one of the newest gs in WWE who's had a major impact on the roster is Rey Fenix, who debuted in April on SmackDown with an incredible showing. Fenix is set to get as solid of a push as his brother, Penta, who is currently in the Intercontinental Championship mix on Raw, unsuccessfully challenging again for the title against Dominik Mysterio at Backlash.
Fatu isn't a luchador, but he certainly can move like one, and like Fenix, he makes quick and fancy work out of the top rope to his benefit and to his opponent's dismay. Fenix and Fatu would be another high-flying opportunity for both men to put on a solid spectacle and bring additional attention to themselves as they move up the card together, establishing themselves as a foil for one another on the way up.
4 Aleister Black
Back Into A Title Picture Right After His Return
Underneath the flips and the wild movements is a very sinister and dark part of Jacob Fatu that has yet to fully be realized, and the day the true Samoan Werewolf is shown to the world will be a very scary day for WWE. Darkness, in its best presentation on WWE, is always met with similar darkness, and with Aleister Black returning to the company, there's opportunity to tell a dark and sinister story on Black's way to the United States Championship.
Allowing Fatu to dive into the psyche of his character while showing Black he's not the only dark artist in town would make for a great story...
Black has consistently been one of the best cerebral performers, as well as athletic ones, in the company, and a pairing with Fatu just makes sense, especially if they lean into the darker edges of their characters. Allowing Fatu to dive into the psyche of his character while showing Black he's not the only dark artist in town would make for a great story and a solid build for both to show the depth of what they do is not just set in flips and top rope jumps.
5 Jeff Cobb
Fatu's Guard Was Up When He Met Him, A Feud Is Approaching
With another major debut during Backlash, Solo Sikoa introduced the WWE Universe to Jeff Cobb, the former NJPW star who ravaged LA Knight and helped Fatu secure his victory and title. Although Cobb celebrated with Fatu and Sikoa, Fatu appeared to be apprehensive about why he was there in the first place, and what happens next after his debut.
There have been cracks in the relationship between Fatu and Sikoa over the past few weeks, and Cobb could be the foil to come stop Fatu, like he was the foil to stop Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns as the New Bloodline came together. A turn by Sikoa and Cobb on Fatu would help make Fatu a sympathetic babyface, a position most fans see him in already as it is, and would help him break away from Sikoa's shadow on his way to the top.
