In the long history of WWE, the promotion has gained a reputation for featuring some of the greatest champions and superstars ever. Plenty of stormy combatants have battled for glory within the squared circle. Their triumphs and defeats have made World Wrestling Entertainment the most prominent and profitable promotion ever.

However, it's not all about blood and brawling in the biggest wrestling company in the world. Many of the company's performers have provided the WWE Universe with some incredibly funny moments. In a world built on hilarious hijinks and crazy characters, several standouts have illustrated that the 'E' truly stands for 'entertainment'.

For generations, fans have been treated to a long list of laughs. Between the pratfalls, pranks, stunts, and skits, there have been plenty of times when WWE has focused on snickers over suplexes.

10 Fuji Vice

At the same when the then-WWF was becoming the mainstream name in sports entertainment, the promotion began to parody itself. Playing off what they felt the new generation of wrestling viewers wanted, they took every opportunity to lampoon pro wrestling and pop culture.

One such parody featured future WWE Hall of Famers The Magnificent Muraco and his manager, Mr. Fuji. At the time, one of the hottest shows on network television was Miami Vice, a police drama featuring Don Johnson and Phillip Michael Thomas. While the real series was a cutting-edge viewing experience, 'Fuji Vice' went in a very different direction.

Fuji and Muraco were featured in vignettes where they played bumbling detectives, finding themselves caught in wacky scenarios. But the series of videos also signified a shift in the promotion's vision for its programming, acting as a hilarious harbinger of things to come. Professional wrestling was veering hard towards becoming sports entertainment, and Fuji Vice is an entertaining example of that.

9 Kane Imitates The Rock And Hulk Hogan

The Big Red Machine Shows Off His Comedic Skills

When The Rock and Hulk Hogan formed an alliance following WrestleMania 18, they were at their babyface best. The two shined on the microphone and in backstage segments, as they made life hell for The Hulkster's former cronies, the nWo. Along with that hell came a little fire and brimstone, when Kane stood by the two men's side for a six-man tag team match on a 2002 edition of Smackdown.

Before the match, Rock and Hogan were discussing the bout when The Big Red Machine walked into the shot. He rattled off some of the two men's catchphrases but patterned them after his persona. He even mentioned Hulkamaniacs and referred to his followers as 'Kananites'.

8 Kurt Angle and Steve Austin Cowboy Up

An Unlikely Alliance Forms Between Two Fellow Buckaroos

As WWE was amid the Infamous Invasion Angle, one of the few bright spots was the series of videos showing Kurt Angle and Stone Cold attempting to function as a unit. Once again, WWE played off the 'odd couple' dynamic, with The Rattlesnake's non-nonsense demeanor contrasting with The Olympic Gold Medalist's playful, naive nature.

The two shared the screen for several weeks, as Austin had been attempting to bond with McMahon while simply tolerating Angle. Viewing Kurt as nothing more than a useful idiot, Austin would freeze him out from access to McMahon. One such incident occurred when Stone Cold presented the boss with a ten-gallon hat that matched his own. When Angle piped up about whether he got one, too, Austin presented him with a tiny child's cowboy hat, which Angle was hilariously excited over.

These segments did a lot to prove that Angle was more than "just" a wrestling machine, and his synergy with Austin was always off the charts.

7 Almost Anything R-Truth Does

Veteran Performer May Be WWE's Funniest Wrestler Ever

It's hard to pinpoint just exactly the funniest moment featuring R-Truth, because, for a long time, he's been WWE's top comedy act. A legitimate athlete and multi-time titleholder, the veteran has slowed down his in-ring work in recent years, shifting more toward the performance aspect of his game.

R-Truth has been wrapped up in fantastic featurettes alongside nearly every major WWE Superstar in the last 20 years. His confused character always seems to have good intentions, but it usually leads to comical consequences. For example, several years ago, Truth was seen wandering through the ring while playing Pokémon Go. Never mind the fact that there was a match happening at the time.

While most competitors would scoff at the idea of such a persona, R-Truth has fully embraced the role. Even today, he's still providing uproarious absurdity on RAW and Smackdown.

6 'Feeling Ucey'

Sami Zayn Provides a Gut-Busting Bloodline Moment

In the many entertaining promos presented by The Bloodline, adopted member Sami Zayn has been the group's comic relief. Mixed with the ultra-serious Roman Reigns and the intensity of his cousins, Zayn played a helpful and playful role. His wink-and-a-smile approach was a perfect contrast in styles within the faction.

In one such moment, Sami may have coined one of the funniest phrases the WWE Universe has heard in a long time. With tensions running high between Jey Uso and the Tribal Chief, Zayn stepped in to play the peacemaker. He told Roman that Jey was simply not feeling "very Ucey lately."

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have an interesting WrestleMania connection that you may have probably missed.

Coming in the middle of all the drama, it had the desired effect. The crowd immediately started chanting 'Ucey', and The Bloodline broke character. As much as Reigns and the rest of his family tried to keep a straight face, they were overwhelmed by the quote and the response it elicited. That only added to the levity of the segment.

5 Bobby Heenan on Primetime Wrestling

WWE's 1980s Talk Show Was an Early Foray Into Comedy

As Vince McMahon's vision of sports entertainment blossomed in the 1980s, WWE produced a nighttime talk show (of sorts) for the USA Network. Bobby Heenan, alongside his onscreen foil and real-life friend Gorilla Monsoon, showed off his characteristic wit. Much as they did when they called matches together, the two had in-character acrimony that was unprecedented.

Once again, it's nearly impossible to pick out one, solitary segment from Heenan that tops the list. But then again, why would you want to? As perhaps the greatest talker in pro wrestling history, The Brain should be celebrated for this era of his illustrious career. Younger fans would be well served to go back and watch some of those old episodes again, to see a master at his craft doing his finest work.

4 Vince McMahon Takes a Beer Bath

The Texas Rattlesnake Quenches Our Thirst For Laughter

The saga of Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon is a well-documented one. It's the storyline that probably saved the company when they were at their lowest point in recent memory - resurrecting the franchise. Along the way, McMahon would play the foil, as Austin seemed to always get the best of his boss.

In one of the highlights of this story, Austin shared a drink with McMahon (sort of). On the March 22, 1999, episode of Monday Night RAW, the promoter and his stable were in the ring when The Rattlesnake drove a beer truck into the arena up to ringside. After standing on top of the vehicle and cutting a promo, Austin grabbed a huge hose and sprayed the whole ring with beer.

The comedy act that followed has been burned into our memories forever, especially the sight of McMahon flopping around the mat, as if he were trying to swim his way to safety. A classic moment from the Attitude Era.

3 The Adventures of Booker T and Goldust

The Unlikely Pair Were a Perfect Comedy Duo

There were probably no two more different athletes in WWE in the mid-2000s than Goldust and Booker T. However, when the duo began teaming up, the exchanges between them had audiences rolling. Throughout their time together, they began filming some of the best vignettes ever.

The two were spotted shopping in a convenience store, previewing movie reviews, and showing up in countless backstage segments. With the androgynous Goldy's perchance for double entendre and Booker T playing his role to the hilt, they left the entire WWE Universe in stitches.

That chemistry continued for Goldust later in a similar role with R-Truth. And while that pairing was successful as well, nothing quite compares to Goldust and Booker T.

2 Mr. McMahon's Trip to the Hospital

In the long-running saga of Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Vine McMahon, one of the memories that will always put a smile on fans' faces is 'The Hospital Incident'. With Vince McMahon laid up in the hospital with a broken leg, he was already in a foul mood. Then, he received a few unwelcomed visitors who made things even worse.

First, Mankind showed up to try and lift the boss's spirits. He brought balloons, a clown, and he introduced a certain sock puppet known as 'Mr. Socko'. It was the birth of a new wrinkle in Mankind's persona, with Socko eventually becoming part of his in-ring act. Vince was not amused, shook his head, and sarcastically said to himself, "Mr. Socko." That sealed that portion of the vignette.

Later, Stone Cold would arrive, disguised as an orderly. He immediately opened a can of whoop ass on Vince, punching him in his broken leg, sticking him in the backside with a needle, and shocking him with a defibrillator. The climax to this craziness came when Austin clocked Vince over the head with a bedpan. It's a segment that has been shown over and over again, yet it gets funnier every time.

1 This Is Your Life

Mick Foley Throws a Buffoonish Birthday Party For The Rock

There's perhaps no funnier segment in WWE history than the famous and hilarious 'This is Your Life', featuring Mankind and The Rock, which is still the highest-viewership segment in Monday Night Raw history. Occurring on the September 27, 1999, episode of Raw, the two of the Rock 'n' Sock Connection were in the ring, where Mankind was throwing a surprise birthday party for The Great One.

Several figures from The Rock's past, including his high school girlfriend, his old football coach, and one of his teachers, were there. This allowed The Rock to roast each of them like only the Brahma Bull can. Then, he revealed to Mankind that it wasn't even his birthday. The bit garnered the highest rating in WWE TV history, and it's still a favorite for many fans to go back and watch again. It also cemented The Rock 'n' Sock Connection's legacy as a fantastic farcical force.
