Gal Gadot has revealed what her reaction was after seeing in theaters and on HBO Max.

In addition to the film’s groundbreaking release strategy, which has caused quite the stir in the film industry, the sequel is also upping the ante with new storyline and visual elements. Wonder Woman 1984 is set in the ‘80s at the height of the Cold War, and Princess Diana will face two foes in the form of Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Cheetah (Kristen Wiig). Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor will also make a mysterious appearance. Also, as the film continues its promotion leading up to the Christmas release, it has continued to spotlight the much discussed Golden Eagle Armor that Princess Diana wears in various posters. Ever since the very first trailer showed the armor, it has been a hot topic of conversation for Wonder Woman fans, and now Gadot has shared her own first reaction to the Golden Armor.

In an interview with Cinemablend, promoting Wonder Woman 1984, Gadot discussed the Golden Eagle Armor and her first reaction to seeing the attire. The DCEU star revealed, “It was amazing,” before discussing her reaction to seeing the sketch for the armor. She appreciated that it enabled her to do something different, as Golden Armor is not something that would necessarily be the first choice of attire for most women:

"It was amazing. First of all I first saw the sketch of what we’re gonna design, it blew my mind. It was so beautiful. And it’s like women and clothes. Golden armor is not something a woman would ever try on and I was like ‘Great, I have the best opportunity to try this crazy costume!’"

Gadot’s reaction to the costume is likely how most audience reacted to Wonder Woman’s popular armor. The film marks the first time the golden armor is a part of a live-action film, and it’s certainly “beautiful.” Gadot is also proud of how her portrayal of Wonder Woman has the power to inspire young girls, and perhaps putting on the armor, a costume the star noted women would not usually try on, is another small part of giving viewers a different perspective of what women can do. Later in the interview, the star also discusses the work that went into the costume to ensure it looked right and was also practical, so she could “move in it.” Interestingly, Jenkins informed Screen Rant during a set visit that the costume is also inserted into the storyline for a reason, as Diana actually needs the armor against Cheetah because the antagonist “can get you on all of your limbs.”

It’s expected that fans will see Diana bring out the Golden Armor in the third act to combat, as Jenkins mentioned, Cheetah. The film, which has now been released in international markets, has received strong reviews, as critics have called the sequel “heartfelt.” Fans in the U.S. do not have to wait long now, as they will get to witness Wonder Woman and her Golden Armor next Friday. However, hearing Gadot’s enthusiasm and excitement for the Golden Eagle Armor will likely have fans even more excited to see it in Wonder Woman 1984, either on the big screen or at home on HBO Max.
