Wolverine remains one of the most popular of Marvel's X-Men team.

Whether it is in the comics, where he recently came back from the grave in the Marvel Legacy storyline, or in the movies, where Logan has appeared in one way or another in every single Fox X-Men movie, Wolverine is a constant and always entertaining character. He is also one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe.

In the first X-Men movie, Wolverine proved to have superhuman fighting skills and strength, unbreakable claws, an Adamantium skeleton, and a healing factor.

By the time he had his own solo movie in X-Men Origins: Wolvinere, fans learned how he got some of his powers and the extent of those skills. Wolverine showed he was even more powerful than previously expected, and Logan showed that, despite all of his powers, Wolverine was not immortal.

Throughout the years in Marvel Comics, Wolverine has gained and lost powers. He has also seen himself weakened and powered up to immense levels.

Fans have been showed how his basic powers could manifest other secondary powers that allowed him to do just about anything needed to win a fight. He also proved to be one of the most enduring and reliable heroes in the Marvel Universe.

His future in the movies seems cloudy with Hugh Jackman retiring from the role after Logan. However, in the world of Marvel Comics, Wolverine is back stronger than ever.

With that said, here is Every Power Wolverine Has Officially Ranked From Weakest To Strongest.

DECELERATED AGING

Wolverine has a lot of special powers and many of them are a result of his regenerative healing. One of these powers is decelerated aging.

This means that his healing slows his entire aging process and keeps him young, physically vital, and strong despite his advanced age.

How old is Wolverine? According to the Kitty Pryde and Wolverine miniseries, Logan was born in the late 19th century. This makes him well over 100 years old, yet his body continues to keep him healthy and strong.

In fact, he looks no older than a middle-aged man.

While this ability does not help him in a fight, it does allow him to continue fighting for many years -- or even decades -- to come.

ANIMAL EMPATHY

All Of Wolverine’s Powers, Officially Ranked

Animal empathy is the ability to empathize with animals. This basically means that the person with this power can sense and understand the emotions of animals, and almost more importantly, animals can also understand said person.

This is a hugely important power that Wolverine possessed when he lived on his own in the woods.

Sabretooth shares this power as well, and while the two men don't control animals, they can work alongside them and even get help from them when needed.

For Logan, he is able to communicate his intentions to animals as well, which limits the chances for an animal attack due to unwarranted fear.

During points of intense rage, Wolverine can also take on the traits of those animals around him.

IMMUNE TO MYSTICAL CURSES

Wolverine's healing factor also helps keep him safe from mystical curses. This is pretty important in the Marvel Comics Universe since there are vampires and werewolves running around, including the legendary Dracula himself.

Wolverine has even been turned into a werewolf before in Wolverine: First Class #10-11. However, his body was able to cure him of this curse.

In X-Men Vol. 3 #5, he was turned into a vampire, and his body was able to eliminate the vampire curse and revert him back to normal -- his body actually repelling vampirism quicker than the werewolf curse.

It should also be noted that his body rejects diseases quicker once it has encountered them, which makes him even more immune to these mystical curses from the world of Marvel monsters.

NIGHT VISION

All Of Wolverine’s Powers, Officially Ranked

Wolverine is a hunter. Yes, he empathizes with animals and can understand their feelings and intent, but he also loves a good hunt.

With that said, Wolverine has a few superpowers that help him in this area, and while it is not one of the more important skills, Wolverine is able to see in the dark.

Though this helps with hunting at night and surviving surprise animal attacks in the dark, it is also incredibly useful when dealing with bad guys.

Wolverine has enhanced vision, which provides him with telescopic vision. He can use this to see great distances with clarity, though he also has the natural ability of night vision.

If fighting in pitch black darkness, Wolverine can see pretty much anything and this gives him a clear advantage over anyone other than those who share this skill -- such as Sabretooth.

LIE DETECTION

Logan and Professor X

Wolverine also shares an interesting superpower with Daredevil. While Daredevil can listen to a person's heartbeat and tell if they are lying or not, Logan has a similar skill.

Thanks to his enhanced hearing, Wolverine can listen to a person's heart and from years of experience know when a person is lying or telling the truth by the speed and acceleration of the heartbeat.

Also, as he proved in the movie X2: X-Men United, Wolverine can detect when someone is pretending to be someone they are not.

when Mystique tried to allure Wolverine in the tent and he figured out who she was? Wolverine has an enhanced sense of smell and can therefore tell if someone is lying about who they are.

He can also smell someone like Peter Parker and know instantly that he is Spider-Man.

IMMUNE TO POISONS AND DISEASES

All Of Wolverine’s Powers, Officially Ranked

Wolverine's healing factor not only protects him from injuries, but it also protects his body from diseases and poisons.

One thing that his Adamantium skeleton did was increase and speed up his healing powers. This is due to the fact that Adamantium spreads a poison through a person's body -- which is why it failed on most test subjects.

With Wolverine's healing factor forced to work double time to save him from the Adamantium poisoning, it made this superpower even quicker to react.

This also helps with other types of poisons, and it is almost impossible for Wolverine to grow intoxicated or show any effects for most substances, although Wolverine Vol. 3 #26 showed that anesthetics can affect him on a large level.

RESISTANT TO WEATHER EXTREMES

Wolverine vs Sabertooth in snow

Wolverine's healing factor also protects him from the harsh weather elements, which came in handy when he lived in the woods in the past.

While most people suffer frostbite or even  away in extremely chilly conditions, Logan's body has no reaction to extreme cold.

In Wolverine Hulk #1, Logan even slept in the buff in subarctic conditions and the cold never affected him at all.

Whether he is in a desert, where normal humans could perish from dehydration or in the Arctic, where a normal man would freeze, Wolverine is able to keep going and never misses a beat.

With that said, his immunity to cold and heat does not protect him from drowning, and his healing factor will not protect him from ing away if he is submerged in water for too long.

ADAMANTIUM SKELETON

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

The Adamantium skeleton was both a curse and a blessing for Wolverine. First, when Weapon X placed the Adamantium skeleton into Logan, it spread a poison through him that would destroy a normal person.

This caused intense pain and suffering but his healing factor ended up reversing the poison and saving his life. The good news is that Logan is now immune to those poisons and still has the skeleton.

The Adamantium laces the entire skeleton of Wolverine -- including his bone claws.

As a result, he has one of the strongest and unbreakable metals in the world connected to his skeleton, making it impossible to break his bones.

This makes his claws even more powerful-- while Logan's healing factor reverses injuries, his skeleton prevents many others.

SUPERHUMAN SPEED

Wolverine also has superhuman speed, although it is at a low superhuman level. He can attack enemies at a speed that is quicker than the eye can follow.

Other heroes who have the ability to move fast, such as Spider-Man, have struggled to match the speed of Logan in a fight.

This helps when Wolverine is fighting people with weapons. While his body has no worries concerning getting shot, Logan is able to often move faster than a person can actually pull a trigger, as proved in Uncanny X-Men #232.

This makes him invaluable in a fight where there might be collateral damage, as his speed is able to save just as many lives as well as stop the bad guys.

ENHANCED REFLEXES

On top of being superhumanly fast, Wolverine also has enhanced reflexes that help him fight just about anyone.

Added to his enhanced reflexes, Logan also has years of specialized fight training. Even before ing the X-Men and working extensively in its Danger Room setting, he was trained by some of the best military co-ops in the world.

He was part of the Weapon X program in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In the comic books, he worked with Nick Fury in the past as well.

With his specialized military training adding to his enhanced skills, he is able to stand toe-to-toe with someone like Captain America.

As shown in The Wolverine, Logan was also able to fight an entire troop of ninjas on equal ground.
