Laura Kinney is currently the new cosplay shows off one of her coolest costumes worn during her time as part of the New X-Men.
Subject X-23 was created by the Weapon X program, when Laura’s mother, Sarah Kinney mixed her own DNA with that of Logan. The project lead, Dr. Martin Sutter was attempting to clone Wolverine in hopes of creating another and more controllable version of him, but the experiment went wrong. Thanks to help from her mother, Laura escaped and tracked down her father intent on killing him. Instead, he convinced her to find another path, which ultimately leads her to enrolling at the Xavier Institute and becoming part of the X-Men.
This newest costume look comes from artist and cosplayer Elisabeth and was shared on her Instagram this cosplay an impressive tribute to X-23’s look in the comics.
Laura Kinney's History From X-23 to Wolverine
This amazing cosplay does justice not only to Laura’s X-23 costume, but also the artistic style of Ramos. As Elisabeth herself says on her Instagram post, she specifically designed the costume to mimic the artist’s distinctive form, with the oversized boots and wrist armor. Add to that stunning claws and a belt, all adorned with the iconic “X” symbol and Laura has never looked so good. This is a costume fans may never get to see in the movies, but here Elisabeth proves that it can be impressively done in live-action. Laura has always had a fierce and vocal fan base, especially when it was recently believed that she was going to revert to her X-23 codename after being given the title of Wolverine. However, that proved to be false, and in modern comics she still retains her father’s mantle. Being called Wolverine shows how far she has come in her journey as a person and as a hero, but it's also worth ing where she started and that is exactly what this cosplay does in stunning detail.
Laura Kinney has been an experiment, a runaway, and an X-Men, and through it all she has proven herself to be a worthy hero. Though she may currently be Wolverine, this awesome cosplay from Elisabeth does her X-23 costume and the comic artist, Humberto Ramos, justice, and is certainly a cooler look than fans got to see in the movie Logan.
