Production on season 2 of Netflix’s how big “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher” was going to be.

The Witcher introduced viewers to non-linear style, with their paths eventually converging by the end of the series. This narrative style was an interesting approach to the main characters’ stories, but it didn’t appeal to all viewers as some found it to be confusing, especially those who aren’t familiar with the books and/or the video games.

The world of The Witcher is well-known in big part thanks to its video game adaptations, which is why it already had a pretty solid fan base, with the series expanding it even more. As such, there are many characters fans are expecting to see in confirmed to appear in The Witcher season 2 so far.

Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen

Game of Thrones Kristofer Hivju Might The Witcher Season 2

Nivellen was the leader of a gang of highwaymen and cutthroats, who inherited the role after his father was killed. One day, after raping a young priestess during a robbery, he was cursed as he was a “monster in a man’s skin”, so he shall become a “monster in a monster’s skin”. The result was a form-changing curse very similar to that of the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. There’s a cure, of course, but he didn’t quite understand it. He has a history with another new character, Vereena, and appeared in just one story (“A Grain of Truth”, in the book The Last Wish). Nivellen will be played by Kristofer Hivju, known for playing Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones.

Paul Bullion as Lambert

The Witcher Lambert Paul Bullion

Geralt won’t be the only witcher in season 2, as the series is adding three more to the mix. First, Lambert, one of the younger witchers from Kaer Morhen and one of the last ones to be trained there. Lambert first appeared in the book Blood of Elves, and has since taken part in other stories, as well as in the video games. Lambert is known for his attitude and impatience, and is pretty ill-mannered (he was particularly rude towards Triss Merigold), but he plays a big role in Ciri’s life as he trains her in the art of combat. Lambert will be played by Paul Bullion, best known for his role in Peaky Blinders as Billy Kitchen.

Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel

The Wicher Netflix Eskel

Eskel is another witcher and an old friend of Geralt. Contrary to Lambert, Eskel is calm and reasonable. He has appeared in various books, and given his strong connection with Geralt, he will most likely have an important role in The Witcher season 2 – plus, he also helps F9.

Yasen Atour as Coën

Entry 2 The Witcher Henry Cavill Moody Cropped

Coën is the third witcher viewers will meet in season 2. He spent his first winter at Kaer Morhen when Ciri was in the keep, and trained her in sword combat. Coën is an unusual witcher as he has scars from childhood illness, meaning he either began his training later than most (as witchers are immunized) or he somehow contracted these diseases. Yasen Atour has previously appeared in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.

Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia

The Witcher season 1 Geralt Yennefer

Not everything will be new witchers training Ciri – there will also be new sorceresses to meet. Lydia van Bredevoort is a sorceress, painter, and Vilgefortz’s assistant. Lydia has a very tragic story, as she can only communicate through telepathy after an incident with a cursed artifact left her with severe injuries. Lydia will be played by Aisha Fabienne Ross, who had a minor role in The Danish Girl.

Mecia Simson as sca

Enid an Gleanna, also known as sca Findabair, is an elven sorceress and queen of the elves of Dol Blathanna. She is a founding member of the Lodge of Sorceresses (a secret organization of female mages) and is considered to be the most beautiful woman in the world. British model and actress Mecia Simson will play sca in The Witcher season 2, and it will be her biggest role to date as she has only appeared in miniseries (The Hunt) and short films (He Who Has It All).

Agnes Bjorn as Vereena

The witcher cover the last wish

Vereena is a powerful bruxa – a type of vampire that takes on the appearance of a dark-haired young woman, and whose natural form is that of a large, black bat with sharp fangs and claws – who falls in love with Nivellen. Bruxae have their own language, which is why Vereena barely speaks. Vereena’s only appearance was in “A Grain of Truth” in The Last Wish, just like Nivellen, so she might not stay for long, but will at least introduce yet another type of monster into the world of The Witcher on Netflix. This is Agnes Bjorn’s first role.

Carmel Laniado as Violet

Dolittle, where she played Lady Rose, a maid of honor to the Queen and Tommy’s friend.
