CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher saga's other games. There is currently no word regarding a release date or platforms, although one would assume that it will get a release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Adam Badowski, Head of Studio at CD PROJEKT RED made the following comment about the game.
“The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD PROJEKT RED. It was the first game we made, ever, and it was a big moment for us then. Going back to this place and remaking the game for the next generation of gamers to experience it feels just as big, if not bigger (...) Collaborating with Fool’s Theory on the project is just as exciting, as some of the people there have been previously involved in The Witcher games. They know the source material well, they know how much gamers have been looking forward to seeing the remake happen, and they know how to make incredible and ambitious games. And although it will take some time before we’re ready to share more about and from the game, I know it’ll be worth the wait.”
The Witcher Is Being Remade In Unreal Engine 5
The original The Witcher launched in a very rough state, to the point where it needed a special edition just to fix all of the technical and design issues with the game. The Witcher might best be known for its crass use of collectible cards for Geralt’s love interests, which is still a source of mockery from the fans to this day. The game is long overdue for a remake, especially with the series becoming so big, thanks to The Witcher 3's universal acclaim from critics as one of the best RPGs of the previous console generation, and the popularity of The Witcher Netflix series.
It seems that The Witcher Remake won’t be released for a while and it will be a long time before the developers have anything new to show. The original game is worthy of a full remake, in order to give Geralt’s first adventure its proper due. A remake of The Witcher II: Assassins of Kings might also be under consideration, as that’s a game that’s currently limited to the PC and Xbox platforms. Those who want the complete The Witcher video game experience will one day be able to do so, without having to play through Geralt's rough early adventure in The Witcher.
