Quests of all sizes will affect Geralt's reputation with the mod, though certain major questlines are said to have more significant impacts, presumably many of those that inform The Witcher 3's important character endings. Completing Witcher contracts, horse races, fist fights, boat races, certain points of interest ("those [which] will affect the life of the local communities"), and bad behaviors like stealing and brandishing weapons in front of guards all contribute to the Reputation System mod. It operates on a simple 100-point scale, always starting at 50: Hated is 0–15, Disliked is 15–40, Neutral is 40–60, Liked is 60–80, and Respectable is 80–100.
It's an interesting new wrinkle to the game, even if it only has monetary implications. CD Projekt Red may have intended for the reputation system to affect NPC interactions, but it's impossible to know for sure; the amount of work that would require definitely makes its cancelation understandable, though. The Reputation System mod comes only months after the release of the REDkit modding tools, and is proof that even nearly a decade since its release, The Witcher 3 can still be transformative thanks to continued .
