The Witcher 3’s next-gen update has finally launched, and it includes some new items inspired by the Netflix series. These items, in addition to the many quality of life changes featured in the update, are a great way to bring fans of the series over to CD Projekt Red’s game universe to experience what many see as the definitive Witcher adventure. It also gives the more-seasoned fans a compelling reason to dive back into the world of The Witcher 3.
The Witcher 3’s long in development next-gen update has been highly anticipated, with its release initially planned for 2021. After some development shakeups, its launch brings additional content to expand the already enormous game. A new side quest is attached to acquiring a set of unique gear inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher series, being added to entice show and game fans alike to journey back into the Continent. The update will also include gameplay and graphical updates that make the game perform and look better on modern hardware.
The Witcher 3’s Geralt Can Wear Henry Cavill’s Armor
CD Projekt Red’s latest The Witcher 3’s new side quest in Velen, they will be rewarded with Geralt’s armor from season one of The Witcher, which can be upgraded to its appearance from season two. Henry Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt of Rivia is arguably one of, if not the best aspects of Netflix’s The Witcher, and the two variations of his armor are a welcome addition to The Witcher 3 as a lovely tribute to his version of the character. Also included in the next-gen update are alternate appearances for Dandelion and the Nilfgaardian armor, inspired by their counterparts in the series.
The Witcher 3’s Netflix-Inspired Gear May Bring New Players
Mixed reactions to Netflix’s The Witcher series aside, it is undoubtedly wonderful when people are introduced to something great that they wouldn’t have otherwise experienced. Featuring gear and appearances inspired by the Netflix series has the potential to do just that with its fanbase. This means that many more players will discover the brilliant game that is The Witcher 3 for the first time, which is something the more-seasoned fans will certainly envy. This also bodes well for the future of CD Projekt’s games, as more players almost always translate to more games, several of which have already been announced, including a remake of the original The Witcher.
On its own, the new Netflix Witcher items offer little variation from the vanilla Witcher 3 experience in of gameplay. On the other hand, the next-gen update’s gameplay and graphical improvements make up for this in strides. The Netflix Witcher items provide returning players with new looks that will freshen up The Witcher 3 for them to play again without turning to mods to enhance their experience. The Witcher 3 is already a massive game, so any further updates and additional content that gives players a chance to dive back in and play the game in new ways are very much welcome.
