A new fan mod for CD Projekt Red's differences to The Witcher CDPR games, especially when it comes to Geralt and his weapons.

The fantasy novels may be the inspiration behind the beloved video game series, but CD Projekt Red opted to make many changes when bringing the adventures of Geralt to PC and console. One of the most notable differences between The Witcher games and their source material is Geralt and his swords. While the game character is known for carrying two swords on his back in preparation for different types of enemy encounters, the Geralt of the books famously carries one on his back while keeping the other in his saddle. As a more faithful representation of the books, the Netflix series differs from The Witcher games with Henry Cavill's Geralt wearing just one sword on his back.

Modders ZOST and 18mic11 have created a mod that adds a book-canon armor set to The Witcher 3 (via WCCFTech). The NexusMods  includes new silver and steel swords, while also introducing gloves, pants, a leather jacket, and boots, all of which are light armor. The new armor set is inspired by the final short story of the Sword of Destiny collection, Something More, as well as the main The Witcher story. YouTuber MasterKing has ed a video of the new book-inspired set in action, showing off what fans can expect once they the mod.

Those looking to make their next playthrough of The Witcher 3 a little more akin to Sapkowski's original vision can the mod via NexusMods. As the creator explains, the full set consists of Leather Jacket Armor, Silver-Studded Gloves, Old Worn Pants, Boots with Knife, the Albion Regent custom steel sword, and the Albion Maximilian custom silver sword. The install is a fairly straightforward one, and once installed, players will be able to acquire the new armor set via Novigrad's Hattori blacksmith.

As well as book-friendly armor available through the mod, The Witcher 3 fans will soon be able to get their hands on new in-game cosmetics inspired by the Netflix series. Earlier this year it was confirmed that free DLC would be coming with the new-generation upgrade of The Witcher 3, consisting of new items inspired by the Netflix series. While the exact contents have yet to be confirmed, players can likely expect to see a new outfit for Geralt that closer resembles Henry Cavill's on-screen costume. The DLC, along with the new-generation upgrade of The Witcher 3, is expected to release later this year.
