Supernatural prequel, produced by Jensen and Danneel Ackles, takes a step back in time to look into the backstories of John and Mary Winchester. Featuring brand new characters alongside previously established figures, The Winchesters offers a fresh look at a familiar story.
When Mary Campbell runs into John Winchester, freshly home from the Vietnam War, the two become more entangled than they'll ever know. The pair find that their search for both of their fathers leads them to the mysterious organization known as the Men of Letters. While trying to unravel the clues their fathers have left behind, John gets a crash course in the family business — "saving people, hunting things." The entire story is narrated by their son, Dean Winchester, as he attempts to find the true story of his parents' love.
Meg Donnelly As Mary Campbell
The Winchester's Mary Campbell is a tough, no-nonsense hunter who has been trained in the family business since birth. When her father disappeared, Mary took on one last job: find Samuel Campbell and step away from hunting for good. Though Mary is used to working alone, she quickly finds that doesn't have to be the case. Mary Campbell is portrayed by Meg Donnelly, an American actress whose breakout role came playing Addison in the Disney movie Z-O-M-B-I-E-S. Since then, Donnelly has appeared in television series like American Housewife and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
Drake Rodger as John Winchester
After returning home from the war in The Winchesters, John Winchester has one goal; to find his father. His search quickly sends him into a world he never knew existed, grappling with both internal and external demons. In search of his own purpose, John discovers more about his family than he ever expected. John Winchester is played by Drake Rodger, an actor relatively new to the entertainment industry. Before The Winchesters, Rodger appeared in films such as The In Between and Not Alone, and will play Brian Blanton in Quiet in my Town.
Nida Khurshid As Latika Desai
Though she may be easy to frighten, Latika is the Supernatural spinoff's formidable hunter-in-training. As an employee at the Lawrence Public Library, Latika assists Mary both with research and in the field. Latika is portrayed by Nida Khurshid, who is known for her roles in Adversity and Station 19.
Jojo Fleites As Carlos Cervantez
While Carlos Cervantez may be a skilled hunter and fighter, his proclivity for being inconsistent makes Mary hesitant to trust him. Carlos boasts an active love life and a flair for the dramatics, but knows how to get the job done in the end. Jensen Ackles was keen to include a non-binary lead in The Winchesters (via Variety), and Jojo Fleites' fulfills that role with this being their first major acting role.
Jensen Ackles As Dean Winchester
As John and Mary's future son, Dean Winchester serves as The Winchesters' narrator. Having heard bits and pieces of his parents' history throughout Supernatural, Dean has struck out to find the truth of their love story for himself. Jensen Ackles, also known for his appearance as Solider Boy in The Boys, is the only Supernatural actor confirmed to appear in The Winchesters.
