Matt Bolton and Colleen Reed seemed compatible when they got engaged on Matt, an established aerospace manufacturer, proposed to ballet dancer Colleen after they established an emotional connection in the pods. While getting to know each other, Matt confessed that he was previously married but got divorced after his ex-wife cheated. Colleen, on the other hand, struggled to open up after she was turned down by Cole Barnett and Brennon Lemieux. Cole eventually proposed to Zanab Jaffrey, while Brennon and Alexa Alfia were the first pair to get engaged on Love Is Blind season 3.
Despite Matt's tough exterior and Colleen's shallow tendencies, the Love Is Blind couple were elated to finally meet, and they seemingly enjoyed their honeymoon. It was no secret that Colleen and Cole shared an initial connection in the pods, so when the Love Is Blind stars met in person, Matt's guard went up. The Love Is Blind season 3 cast later attended a pool party, and while Raven Ross turned down Bartise's flirtations, Colleen didn't react the same to Cole's advances. Cole, who has been compared to Matt Barnett from Love Is Blind season 1, professed that Colleen hit his physical check marks. In response, Colleen told Cole that he was cute and would have a chance in the real world. Understandably, this conversation didn't sit well with Matt when he found out. In the ensuing argument, Matt accused Colleen of messing with his emotions and threatened to pack his bags right then and there.

Luckily, Matt and Colleen managed to work through the spat and appeared to be back on track. When the Love Is Blind season 3 cast gathered at a club, tensions once again rose. Matt talked to Cole about his conversation with Colleen, and the two came to an understanding. However, it was clear Matt still harbored resentment toward his fiancé. Later that night, Matt called Nancy and Bartise and demanded to know where Colleen was since she still wasn't home. When Nancy explained that Colleen and the other Love Is Blind women were at another club, Matt blew up and accused Colleen of being more interested in partying than their relationship. Although Bartise tried to be the voice of reason, there was no stopping Hurricane Matt, who declared that he was done and that he "couldn't f****** marry this woman."
Since Matt already threatened to leave Colleen once but decided to stay, it's hard to predict whether this Love Is Blind couple will continue to work things out or cut ties for good. Matt's insecurities and paranoia are fueled by the destruction of his last marriage, while Colleen's friendly and bubbly personality adds another layer to the communication breakdown between them. Although Alexa and Brennon are practically guaranteed to marry like fan favorites Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, who're relationship goals, viewers will have to wait until November 2 to find out if Matt and Colleen can overcome their latest hurdle in Love Is Blind season 3.
