The reality television series Catfish: The TV Show has been airing on MTV since 2012 and we are about to share information about how to watch season 8. The show brings truth to uncertain relationships. Hosts Nev Shulman and Kamie Crawford guide individuals through the personal journeys of their online relationships as couples meet for the first time. They navigate the emotional connection between two people when one of the partners is not being truthful about who they are. Catfish: The TV Show has been running for almost 10 years, with the eighth season currently airing weekly on MTV.
The show is based on the 2010 Catfish documentary film. Nev was catfished and his experiences were featured in the film. Then, with the help of his friend Max Joseph, he assisted others who were going through similar experiences by helping them to learn about the true identities of their online connections. Max co-hosted Catfish: The TV Show for the first seven seasons until he had to step down from the position. At that point, Kamie stepped in. The show has grown increasingly popular since more and more people are finding themselves in similar situations. Therefore, it's no surprise that it's been renewed for an eighth season.
The filming of season 7 was suspended in May 2018 due to sexual misconduct allegations. Nev was accused of sexual misconduct by one of the show’s previous participants, but the report was deemed "not credible." This was a difficult time for father and husband Nev personally, and for the show. After a non-credible conclusion, the suspension was lifted, and filming resumed for the season. Although this put a brief pause on the series, the seventh season finished and the series continued into the eighth season.
Catfish: The TV Show began airing on January 8, 2020, and has been going on for approximately the last year. It is the first full season without co-host Max Joseph. The series is still gaining momentum and currently premieres a new episode on MTV weekly. Each week, Nev and Kamie help a new couple to navigate their questionable online relationship. They try to unite the couple and seek the truth. This season airs on Tuesday nights, at 9 pm EST. The show can also be seen on Hulu. The Hulu platform is also a good place to catch up on previous episodes.
This season is unlike any other, aside from being the first full season without Max. Season 8 is being filmed completely virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Nev and Kamie are working remotely with couples who have never met in person. They are unsure if the people that they are communicating with are really who they claim to be. Considering the fact that Nev and Kamie find a lot of information on a person via the Internet, this new format is something that they can certainly adjust to. While meeting the couples has been a new challenge, the show goes on.
New episodes of Catfish: The TV Show air weekly on MTV and bring shocking stories to television. Although some changes are being made to accommodate the ongoing pandemic, the show is continuing to share wild catfishing stories. Each week, personal journeys are being showcased. Of course, the truth is being unveiled.
