Warning: Spoilers for The Wheel of Time season 3, episode 8
Moiraine has made it abundantly clear in season 3 that heading to Tear and claiming Callandor should be a top priority for Rand. As Moiraine noted in the finale, the Aiel can serve as the army Rand needs to seize the Stone of Tear. This indicates that Rand will go there next, with both Moiraine and the Aiel in tow. Moiraine was indeed on hand in the book version of the story, which means an important scene should be coming up soon. Interestingly enough, the show built further evidence for that through the fight with the Black Ajah in the Tanchico storyline.
Moiraine Balefired Be'lal At The Stone Of Tear In The Dragon Reborn
With Balefire, Moiraine Was Able To Kill A Forsaken
The ter'angreal wand used in the Wheel of Time season 3 finale introduced a major ability from the books known as balefire. As demonstrated by what happened to the Black Ajah member when she was struck by Elanye Trakand, Balefire does more than just kill its target; it removes them from the Pattern entirely. In doing so, it also erases their most recent actions from the timeline, as if they never happened at all. What's worse for them is that they can no longer be reborn into the Pattern. In the pages of The Dragon Reborn, this is the fate met by Be'lal when he goes up against Moiraine.
In The Dragon Reborn, it was revealed that Be'lal had been staking out the Stone of Tear, knowing from the Dragon Reborn prophecy that the reincarnation of Lews Therin Telamon would come for it sooner or later.
As one of the The Wheel of Time, Bel'al was one of the strongest living channelers at the time of his ambush on Rand at the Stone of Tear. However, that didn't save him from being "balefired" by Moiraine. Balefire is a lost weave and technically something that she wasn't supposed to use under White Tower rules, but the threat posed by Be'lal made such risky measures necessary. It was a surprising move, but also one that demonstrated Moiraine's resourcefulness, potential as a channeler, and willingness to do whatever it takes to protect the Dragon Reborn.
Why Be'lal May Not Be The Character Moiraine Balefires In The Show
Moiraine Could Fight A Different Wheel Of Time Villain In Season 4
With balefire being introduced shortly before the time when Rand is expected to take the Stone of Tear in The Wheel of Time, it's not a stretch to assume that even though the show has seemingly scrapped much from The Dragon Reborn, Moiraine's part in it will remain intact. But while Moiriane using balefire in The Wheel of Time's Stone of Tear sequence is very likely at this point, some key changes are probably in order. The series hasn't exactly ruled out Be'lal, but the decision to reduce its Forsaken lineup from 13 to eight lowers the chances of him appearing.
The Wheel of Time's TV adaptation's Forsaken lineup is confirmed to consist of Ishamael, Lanfear, Moghedien, Rahvin, Sammael, Graendal, Semirhage, and one mystery character.
After all, only one Forsaken remained to be revealed, and there are a few of the group who are arguably more worthy of inclusion in the show, such as Asmodean, Demandred, and Mesaana. With that in mind, it's at least possible that instead of a Forsaken being on the receiving end of Moiraine's balefire attack, the show will simply kill off a powerful Darkfriend like Liandrin.

The Wheel Of Time Season 3's Huge Death Scene Paid Off An Odd Book Change From Season 1
The Wheel of Time season 3's major death scene tied back to a memorable Moiraine book change moment from season 1, affirming the choice.
Alternatively, Moiraine's victim could be Rahvin, Graendal, or Semirhage. Rahvin dying so early may seem unlikely, but his death would add greatly to the shock value of the scene. Plus, The Wheel of Time has set up Rahvin to stop Rand from claiming Callandor. However, any intention he has to intercept Rand could take the form of him sending Semirhage or Graendal, who are confirmed associates of his. Either way, it looks as if at least one noteworthy character - whether it's Rahvin, Semirhage, or someone else - is about to meet a fate worse than death courtesy of Moiraine.
