Vanna White will host Wheel of Fortune in Pat Sajak's temporary absence. Displaying a knack for selecting television talent, Griffin locked in Pat Sajak and Vanna White to lead Wheel of Fortune after Woolery, and the duo has graced the show's presence since 1983. White won the job after Griffin witnessed her effortlessly activating the puzzle board letters during her audition. One of the most recognized television personalities of all time, 62-year-old White has appeared as herself in numerous TV shows, including The A-Team, recently canceled Fresh Off the Boat. Now, after a formidable run as co-host, White will take center stage on Wheel of Fortune.

According to Yahoo, Vanna White will host Wheel of Fortune while Pat Sajak recovers from intestinal surgery. Earlier this week, a taping of the show was halted after Sajak required emergency surgery to remedy his blocked intestine. Reportedly, White’s solo performance went smoothly and audiences can tune in to see her talents beginning December 9th. Yesterday, Wheel of Fortune took to Twitter in order to reassure fans Sajak is expecting a full recovery:

Earlier this year, Sajak took home the game show moment when she abruptly took over hosting duties while Sajak rushed backstage to re-watch a contestant’s tape. Overall, Wheel of Fortune remains an American television staple with no sign of slowing down, as both Pat Sajak and Vanna White have renewed their contracts through the year 2022.
