Warning: Contains SPOILERS for What If...? episode 1.
Doctor Strange 2? Steve Rogers is the most famous Super Soldier in Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Abraham Erskine's Project Rebirth gave Steve a perfectly balanced set of superhuman abilities. Steve's selfless psyche allowed him to make the most out of them without overstepping any moral lines. But What If...? episode 1 revealed another Super Soldier that could give Captain America a run for his money.
Doctor Strange 2 will feature Super Soldier Peggy Carter in her full glory. All of the Super Soldiers that followed the birth of the original Captain America were created out of a misguided rush to replicate the original experiment. Characters like Bucky Barnes and John Walker are Avengers: Endgame proves, the kid from Brooklyn was always the best choice to be the first and best Super Soldier.
Here's where What If...? and Captain America: The First Avenger featured Steve Rogers mowing through countless HYDRA agents. While he did become an unstoppable one-person army, he didn't face HYDRA with as much grandeur as Captain Carter did in What If... episode 1. But the full weight of her powers will be unveiled in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Here's how powerful Captain Carter is compared to Captain America.
How Captain Carter Is Stronger Than Captain America
In What If...">Captain Carter was able to send HYDRA vehicles flying with just a light push or a kick, jumped impressive distances, and demonstrated a natural dexterity with the vibranium shield that Steve only showcased in later movies. Captain Carter jumped towards a HYDRA watchtower while driving her motorcycle by propelling herself with her legs, and then kicked the bike towards the watchtower with enough force to cause an explosion. She also tackled four soldiers through a trench effortlessly, took down planes, and pushed Shuma-Gorath — one of the most powerful magical beings — back into its portal without any help.
Captain Carter vs. Captain America: Who Would Win?
Based on the What If...">fought one-on-one (with their fists) against Batroc, Cap ended up receiving several blows from the villain, but his martial arts skills were still enough to defeat the antagonist. On the other hand, Captain Carter had an almost perfect fight, dodging nearly every blow that Batroc threw her way. She was the only one really landing punches. The only Captain Carter vs. Captain America showdown that swings Steve Rogers' way every time would see Carter challenging a Mjolnir-wielding Cap – unlikely as it is, this is the Multiverse. It's happening somewhere. In this case, Captain America would surely beat Carter with the magical weapon, though she'd still be able to get a few good licks in.
How Captain Carter Might Affect The Events Of Doctor Strange 2
Hayley Atwell will be filling her role as Peggy Carter/Captain Carter for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness — and her character could be there to the rest of the Guardians of the Multiverse. She's shown using her shield in the heat of battle in the latest Doctor Strange 2 footage, meaning she'll probably be assisting the wizard against the many threats of the multiverse. It's possible that her character leaked through one of Strange's portals, and she could be filling the role that Captain America isn't. Her improved strength and agility will no doubt be of great value to the team, and perhaps she's more equipped to take on the threat than Cap is.
Undoubtedly, Marvel's What If...">Peggy Carter's innate strength and training before taking the Super Soldier Serum made her more powerful than the main-universe Steve Rogers. After all, the serum had to pull double duty to transform the skinny Steve Rogers into Captain America.
