Who is Serac, the villain of Westworld season 3 premiere, yet he's referenced during a climactic moment. Even though Serac's backstory hasn't been revealed, it's clear that he's powerful enough to disrupt Dolores Abernathy's revolution.

In Westworld season 3, Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) has arrived in the real world, or so it seems, and plans to punish every human that previously took advantage of her. She targets Incite, Inc. - a San Francisco company that developed a system, Rehoboam, which maximizes human potential through a predictive time loop that identifies divergences (moments of crisis). Early on, Dolores gains access to confidential Incite files and also romances CEO Liam Dempsey Jr. (John Gallagher Jr.), who reveals that Incite employees know little about Rehoboam, aside from the original architect.

Serac's Role In Westworld Season 3

Rehoboam in Westworld Season 3

Westworld season 3 teaser features voiceover narration from Engerraund Serac. He references a war that nobody knows about yet, and suggests that it's already been lost. Serac describes humanity as "a miserable little band of thugs," while graphics identify various worldwide catastrophes, including a Parisian thermonuclear "incident" in 2025 and the second Russian Civil War in 2037. He then declaratively states that history now has an "author," which seemingly references Incite's 2039 system initiation of the "Solomon Build."

So, what are Serac's plans in Westworld season 3? All the evidence thus far suggests that he's identified a new divergence that disrupted Rehoboam, and that there's someone he "hasn't for." Clearly, that person is Dolores. And so the Serac teaser in Westworld season 3 establishes the season's primary conflict: man vs. machine. The wildcard, it seems, is Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright) - a host who's supposed to keep an eye on Dolores (at her request) but may choose to ultimately her revolution.

Who Plays Serac In Westworld Season 3

Vincent Cassel Westworld Season 3

French actor Black Swan and Eastern Promises. In Europe, Cassel is known for acclaimed performances in La Haine and Mesrine. He also portrayed François Toulour in Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen.

As an actor, Cassel can at once be charming and intimidating. So, expect Serac to be an immensely popular Westworld season 3 baddie, as the official character photo on HBO.com shows a well-dressed man who means business. Now that Dolores has gained Serac's attention in Westworld season 3, she'll have to tread carefully while plotting against Incite, Inc.
