Netflix has recently released a new teaser clip for the second season of Jenna Ortega's impressive performance as Wednesday Addams. The series follows Wednesday as she attends Nevermore Academy and swiftly becomes involved in a murder mystery that has connections to events before she was born.
Wednesday's first season does a great job of unraveling Nevermore's mystery slowly and building up audience suspicion of each character. Wednesday season 2 will see Ortega resume her role alongside many other cast , including Hunter Doohan as Tyler.
Wednesday Season 2 Is Already Teasing Tyler's Return
The Wednesday Season 1 Villain Appears In A New Clip
While Tyler was exposed as the Hyde and chained up in a van at the end of Wednesday season 1, Tyler chained to a wall, seemingly in Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital, looking up as Wednesday approaches him in his cell. While it had already been confirmed that Doohan would reprise his role as Tyler, it is surprising that Netflix would choose to highlight his reunion with Wednesday right away.
When Tyler was the second-biggest villain in season 1, it could have been effective for the series to wait and build up his return without giving anything away beforehand. The continuation of Tyler's story as the Hyde is one of the biggest unresolved issues and, while it was expected that he was locked up in some way, knowing that he is at Willow Hill removes a lot of potential intrigues that Wednesday could have played with in the first half of the season. Though the new clip has certainly gotten fans excited for the release of season 2, Netflix's choice to show that particular scene may indicate something more.
Why Tyler's Role In Wednesday Season 2 Could Be Bigger Than Expected
Tyler Could Become The Primary Villain
While it is difficult to infer much from the succinct clip, the choice to release it so early may mean that Tyler's role is bigger than previously expected. Since Miss Thornhill (Christina Ricci), revealed to be Laurel Gates, was seemingly killed, Tyler could potentially fill the role of the main villain in Wednesday season 2. This could make sense if he were seeking revenge against Wednesday for stopping their plan in the first season. However, the ambiguity of the clip and the knowledge that Tyler is locked up at Willow Hill may also mean that someone else fills the villain's role instead.

Stranger Things S5, Wednesday S2, Squid Game S3 & More TV Shows Get New Release Info In Netflix 2025 Schedule Reveal
Netflix unveils a comprehensive schedule of their 2025 shows throughout, including major titles such as Squid Game, Wednesday, and Stranger Things.
If season 2 does not see Tyler become the main villain, Wednesday visiting him at Willow Hill could imply that she needs information from him. Wednesday may go to Tyler to learn more about his Hyde or another mystery in Nevermore's history. This would see Wednesday and Tyler become uneasy allies, or, at the very least, redeem him slightly for his past acts. Though Netflix's new clip is too short to give away too much, it does confirm that Wednesday and Tyler will definitely have an intense reunion in Wednesday season 2.
