The Dead Space Remake has a wide range of weapons for players to wield against the Necromorphs. There are seven weapons featured in the main game, not including the foam finger Hand Cannon unlocked through different means. The seven main weapons are the Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle, Ripper, Flamethrower, Beam, Line Gun, and Force Gun.
The Dead Space remake's amazing weapons change has the player find weapons throughout the game as opposed to purchasing them from Shops using schematics found during play. This makes exploring the Ishimura more enticing. Gameplay is also tailored to the player's interests. While one of the Dead Space Remake weapons cannot be skipped, players may miss some of the other fun tools available to them.
How To Get All Seven Weapons In The Dead Space Remake
The first weapon in the Dead Space remake is not skippable. When players begin to control the protagonist Isaac, he will find a Plasma Cutter, which shoots a horizontal or vertical laser through enemies, cutting them apart. The Dead Space remake needs the Plasma Cutter to truly feel like Dead Space. The Plasma Cutter is found on the same bench players found it in the original game, under the text "CUT OFF THEIR LIMBS".
During Chapter 2, players can find the Pulse Rifle in the Medical Tram Station on a dying security guard. The weapon acts as an automatic assault rifle capable of throwing a proximity mine. The third weapon in the Dead Space remake is found in Chapter 3, as players enter the Machine Shop. They can grab the Ripper at the bottom of the stairs. The Ripper can tear through Necromorphs at close range (requiring health upgrades in the Dead Space remake to use properly) with a sawblade and shoot ricocheting blades at further enemies.
There is a secondary weapon available in Chapter 3 of the Dead Space remake, the Flamethrower. This weapon is being carried by a corpse attached to the wall of a hallway on the fifth floor of Engineering, heading towards Fuel Storage. The Flamethrower sets Necromorphs on fire, staggering them while dealing damage over time. The Beam is in Chapter 4, inside the Records Office (which is locked by a Level 2 Security Clearance), dealing both a continued beam of damage and a special shotgun blast.
The sixth weapon, the Line Gun, benefits greatly from collecting schematics throughout the Dead Space remake but is a fun and strategic weapon regardless. Found during Chapter 5 in the Emergency Equipment Storage within ER Hallway A, locked behind Level 2 Security Clearance, the Line Gun fires wide shots and can lay line traps to catch wandering Necromorphs. The last weapon in the Dead Space remake, the Force Gun, can be found in Chapter 6, inside West Seedling Room A with Level 2 Security Clearance. The Force Gun can knock down enemies and create gravity wells.
Players should work on the weapons they find most fun to use during their first playthrough. Playing the game again through New Game + allows players to keep all their weapons from the last run and further strengthen them for maximum damage. Whatever weapon players use in the Dead Space remake, they're sure to destroy any Necromorph in their way.
