There’s a new home for the WCW archive, with professional wrestling fans from today and yesterday able to watch without subscription. While WWE content, including vintage offerings from WCW are currently hosted on Peacock, access requires a subscription and Netflix access for international fans obviously requires a monthly fee too.
However, WWE just launched a brand new way to watch as a WCW Vault YouTube channel. Similarly to the other WWE Vault channel, it appears that some of the most notable moments as well as full episodes are primed to be shared on the platform. According to the official announcement, the new channel will allow fans to "Watch full WCW matches, full episodes of Monday Nitro and Thunder, complete pay-per-view events, and Clash of the Champions, featuring Sting, Ric Flair, The nWo, Goldberg and more."
Why WCW Matches Are Free On YouTube (And Which To Watch First)
There Are Currently 26 Matches ed (And Counting)
It seems that WWE will continue to expand their YouTube presence with the introduction of the 'Vault' additions. While the WCW Vault has just launched, WWE Vault and NXT Vault have been adding access to matches on YouTube for several months. Offering fans worldwide a new way to access classic moments, get ready to fall down a rabbit hole. Personally, I would suggest checking out the WCW Title Match from Spring Stampede 1999, which features Diamond Dallas Page vs. Ric Flair vs. Hollywood Hogan vs. Sting. Iconic!
Intriguingly, there may be plans to follow suit with some eagle-eyed fans spotting that there is already an @ECW channel handle, although no content is currently ed. Perhaps bringing even more access to past matches, an ECW Vault would also be sure to thrill fans who would be able to relive some of their favorite professional wrestling moments for free.
Our Take On WCW Matches Heading To YouTube
Bringing Major Moments To New & Former Fans Alike
While there are plenty of ways to watch professional wrestling online in 2025, it is incredible to see a resurgence of interest in the art form from younger generations of fans. While the prospect of bopping around Peacock or other streaming options to check out the shows available is certainly accessible, it is also a daunting task. Where to start? What was the best? Which moments helped to shape the industry as it stands today?
The Vault YouTube channels help to bridge the gap of knowledge created by time spent in the fandom to give anyone interested in learning a more concrete place to start. Taking a trip through the matches and moments that are currently available on the channel brings back such fond memories for fans. But even better - it offers a new opportunity to bring joy to fans who didn't get the chance to experience WCW in real time.
