Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch can be classified as a B-list hero in the MCU since she has only served as a ing character in the franchise's numerous feature films. Despite being one of the most interesting heroes, she has never granted her own solo movie. Luckily, Maximoff is finally dominating the headlines, thanks to the new Disney+ series WandaVision.

Despite the series starting off with a sitcom format, Maximoff has already displayed some of her powers. Most of her other powers have been displayed during her numerous appearances in the MCU. But what exactly are these powers? Well, Maximoff is able to do way much more than popular heroes like Iron Man and Hulk.

Her Psionic Powers Can Be Blocked

Maximoff has psionic powers that allow her to alter realities, blast energy beams and demonstrate psychic abilities. These powers were acquired from her exposure to the Mind Stone's Scepter while she was a HYDRA agent. While using the powers, reddish currents move around her hands.

Can the powers be stopped? Yes, the powers can be stopped when someone limit's her movements or strikes her head. During the Battle of Wakanda, Maximoff gets struck in the head by Proxima Midnight, thus disrupting her focus and limiting her powers. War Machine also stops her powers in the airport battle by incapacitating her and limiting her movements.

The Force Field Has Its Elastic Limit

Force fields or durable energy barriers act as a shield that protects the hero who generates them. Maximoff has used her force field on a couple of occasions to protect herself and other people from enemy attacks.

How much can the field withstand? Simple gunfire is not a problem. Maximoff can also protect herself with the force field if she finds herself in a crash, absorbing the impact. However, when faced with extreme brute force, the barrier tends to break. This becomes evident when Ultron's numerous Sentries push through it.

She Can Turn Back Time

Maximoff has been able to turn back time on a few occasions. One wonders why the Avengers didn't rely on her more when trying to reverse the destruction caused by Thanos.

Throughout her time in the MCU, Maximoff has done things, such as reverting a hen back to its egg and sending a mysterious entity back into a sewer. When Vision doubts her perception of reality, she reverses time so as to take him back to a time when he isn't doubtful.

Conjuration Is One Of Her Greatest Strengths

WandaVision Scarlet Witch Elizabeth Olsen

The MCU hero has godly powers. She is literally able to get any object she desires by thinking about it or creating it with her hands. She gets pregnant by simply thinking about babies. By snapping her fingers, she is able to create an expensive dress that she wears on a dinner date.

She also manages to create a wedding ring for herself as well as one for Vision by simply waving her finger. To top that, she creates a crane during the Westview Magic Show to help Vision with his flight.

Can She Fly?

The best answer is—a little bit. By projecting energy blasts to the ground, Wanda can propel herself upwards and stay afloat. She is then able to lessen the energy to allow herself to land safely back on the ground.

With time, she has learned to control this power in a more efficient manner. For example, she is able to project both herself and Vision to higher altitudes. After resurrecting, she is seen levitating in the air for much longer while lifting heavy blocks of rubble. There's also the time she flies for several seconds to protect Valkyrie from a Leviathan.

Mind Reading Is One Of Her Favorite Things

Scarlet Witch distracts Tony Stark

Maximoff has been shown to get into people's minds on several occasions. During the South Africa incident, she incapacitates the Avengers and reads all of their memories.

She uses this ability to good effect when facing off against Ultron. Maximoff merges her mind with the villain's consciousness and by doing this, she discovers his intentions to commit genocide. She thus rebels. She sees Tony Stark's fear too by reading his mind when she first meets him. This power also enables her to check Quicksliver's memory and establish what happened to him.

She Can Control The Weather

Sparky the Dog House in WandaVision featurette

As recently seen in the TV show, Maximoff is able to control the weather. When her water breaks, she quickly creates a rainstorm that's limited to the Vision Residence. When the rain stops, she also generates a powerful breeze that pours into the hose from outside and dries everything up.

This is the first time she has used this power in the MCU. It remains to be seen how many more weather elements she can control with the ability. Hopefully, she can control hurricanes too.

Does She Possess The Power Of Disintegration?

Scarlet Witch betrays Ultron using her powers in Age of Ultron

Maximoff has this power but she is rarely seen using it. One can assume that it's a limited ability. Perhaps if she used it for too long, it could affect her negatively.

The only notable time when Maximoff has used the power of disintegration was right after sensing the death of her brother. She disintegrates several Ultron entries on molecular levels, making them unable to function. If she used this power often enough, she wouldn't even need to fight.

She Can Reverse The Effects Of The Mind Stone

Scarlet Witch and Captain America

The Mind Stone can completely control the brain of whoever comes in with it. It's first given to Loki as a gift by Thanos before it is acquired by HYDRA. It's HYDRA that enables Maximoff and her brother to acquire powers from the stone. The stone is later ed by Vision before Thanos takes it back.

Since it's basically what made her, Maximoff has the power to reverse the effects of the stone. This is evident when she frees U-GIN Research Group leader Hellen Cho from the Mind Stone's control.

Other People Are Welcome In Her Reality

Teyonah Parris as Geraldine aka Monica Rambeau in WandaVision

The Disney+ series has proved that other people can enter Maximoff's reality. Carol Danvers' friend Monica Rambeau appears using the alias Geraldine. When Maximoff tells Geraldine that she had a twin brother who was killed, Geraldine tells her that she knows. She also knows that Maximoff's brother was killed by Ultron.

This shocks Maximoff since she didn't expect anyone in her current world to know about that. Maximoff also proves that she has the power to banish people from her own reality as she sends Geraldine back to the real world.
