Warning: contains a preview for Venom #5!

In a preview for Marvel's symbiote god known as Meridius can do with ease.

In previous issues of Venom, Eddie left the present while his physical body was destroyed by the Life Foundation, purely existing through the symbiote hivemind. Additionally, he's left his old symbiote with his son Dylan who has now become a fugitive, becoming the new Venom and being highly sought after not just by the Life Foundation but also other organizations involved in a massive symbiote conspiracy known as "the Absent Throne." However, it's also been teased that everything happening to Eddie and his son is the work of this new symbiote god Meridius.

Now, the new preview for Venom #5 from Al Ewing and Bryan Hitch (following up on issue 4 by series co-writer, Ram V, who is focusing on Dylan's half of the narrative) will reveal more about Meridius, who can apparently traverse time with a simple thought. Unlike Eddie's King in Black, unmoored from his own time before haphazardly ending up in Meridius' garden, this new symbiote god is revealed to playing a non-linear game with Eddie and Dylan; one he's prepared millennia to play. VENOM #5 - If you thought the first four issues of the latest volume of VENOM were crazy, all-out action, just wait till you get a load of this one! IN THIS ISSUE, Al Ewing returns to the pages of Venom - AND HE'S BROUGHT ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS WITH HIM!

Clearly, Meridius is harboring some major hatred towards Eddie, though it's unclear exactly why. Perhaps it's for some future transgression Eddie's King in Black has yet to commit? Whatever the reason may be, it looks as though Meridius can be best described as a symbiote version of Watchmen's Doctor Manhattan, existing non-linearly due to his command of the timeline, almost as if he's existing in multiple points on the timeline at once.

Regardless, it's going to be incredibly interesting not only to learn why this new symbiotes god hates Eddie so much but also how Brock might combat him as the King in Black, seeing as he's nowhere close to having the same type of command over time. Furthermore, it seems as though Meridius is playing his game against father and son simultaneously, sending the new red and black symbiote Bedlam to go after Dylan in the present timeline while facing Eddie directly in this new issue of Venom. See how the new King in Black fares against a superior symbiote god when Venom #5 releases on February 16 from Marvel Comics.
