A seemingly overnight success Riot's latest title, Valorant is emerging to be the largest online competitive game on the market. Riot's fusion of Hero Shooters such as Overwatch and the brutally realistic gameplay of a title such as Counter-Strike creates the recipe for one of the most popular games available. Valorant popularity is connected to its explosion on the streaming platform Twitch. A clever marketing campaign, in which access to the Valorant beta is only possible through watching popular streamers play the game, and being randomly given a key to the game. All this combine is why Valorant is slowly becoming a household name, and will certainly drive Riot's newest project into one of the greatest games of all time.

Arguably the most difficult decisions a Valorant will make is what character they will choose to master and "main." The roster is filled with personality, striking character designs, unique and powerful abilities, and most importantly, variety. There is a playstyle for every player in the game, from powerful recon characters, offensive powerhouses, defensive set-up characters, and styled heroes. Of these characters, Valorant's Breach, a character whose offense is not stopped by players hiding behind walls or covers, in fact, that is where he thrives. With an assortment of wall penetrating abilities, Breach is the perfect choice for players looking to steamroll their competition.

Understanding Breach's Abilities in Valorant

Breach Valorant (2)

Breach is an interesting character in Valorant, as the majority of his playstyle is rooted in attacking enemies through walls. His weaponry revolves around dishing out high damage or stunning enemies that are hiding behind walls, cover, doors, or any kind of structure.

Breach's first ability is his powerful Aftershock move, in which Breach unleashes a massive explosion from behind a wall. This move does incredible damage at the cost of an extremely slow startup. The move also has the smallest range of Breach's other abilities, but it dishes out the highest damage of his kit. When used wisely, this move can annihilate a few enemy team in just one shot and is an excellent weapon in his arsenal.

Flashpoint has the same wall traveling ability as Aftershock but with a flashbang ability rather than damage-dealing ability. This move has more range and can block an enemy player's vision for a couple of seconds. Use this move to stunning enemies to launch an attack and wipe out any unsuspecting enemies.

Similar to Flashpoint Fault Line fires a seismic blast that travels through walls and cover and staggers any enemies in its path. When an enemy is staggered they walk slower and their weapon's fire-rate takes a major hit. Use this move to capitalize on a fleeing team or to turn the tides of a nasty combat encounter.

Breaches' ultimate Rolling Thunder has a similar ability to Fault Line, but with a larger range and an additional effect. Rolling Thunder fires off a powerful stunning ability followed by a unique wave of eruptions that launches the enemy into the air. This allows Breaches' team to finish off the stunned and airborne enemy quickly and efficiently.

Using Breach's Abilities Effectively in Valorant

Valorant Team Comp

Breach is rather limited in how he can utilize his abilities. He has limited synergy with his abilities together and relies on his teammates to maximize his potential.

The only real synergy found in Breaches' arsenal is the use of his Flashpoint and Aftershock abilities. First using Flashpoint to stun a group of hidden enemies and then following it up with Aftershock can spell the end for even a well-organized group of players. This can be a powerful combo when used in the right hands.

Breach relies on good communication and teamwork in order to truly excel, so be sure to call out when you use your powerful abilities in order to wipe out the enemy team!
