The Grave of Henry Avery puzzle in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is as tricky as any other puzzle in the game. The Grave of Henry Avery contains treasures hidden behind a multi-part set of puzzles. The main puzzle in the grave requires players to manipulate statues to correctly align lights on jewels embedded in the opposite wall. However, before players can line up the lights, they must first reach the Grave of Henry Avery.
Chapter 8 of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is titled The Grave of Henry Avery, which eventually leads players to the actual grave. First, players must reach the cemetery, which requires traversal across several platforming sections. After descending cliffs, taking out shoreline mercenaries, and breaking various objects using dynamite, players will find themselves in a cemetery filled with headstones. A winding path under these headstones leads to more treasure in Uncharted 4 that players can collect.
Earlier in Uncharted 4, players received notes on the Grave of Henry Avery. Open these journal entries to see the image used for Henry Avery's headstone. The headstone is a rounded cross with two swords intersecting through the middle. The headstone also has a skull and crossbones underneath the cross and swords. Henry Avery's headstone can be found at the farthest end of the cemetery at the edge of a steep cliff. Interact with the headstone to reveal a hidden set of stairs built into the ground nearby.
Solving The Henry Avery Grave Puzzle In Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Head down the hidden set of stairs to discover Henry Avery's extensive underground crypt. A set of statues sit at the end of the ageway depicting three men being crucified. After examining the statues, head around to the backside of the statue wall. A cutscene triggers in which Sam lights a candle that illuminates the backside of the wall, revealing six beams of light. Head back to the statues to manipulate the light beams in a similar fashion to the Shiva Light Beam puzzle in Uncharted 4.
- Left statue: pull the beams to the right and rotate clockwise. The top beam must align with the first jewel on the right side of the door. The bottom beam must align with the third jewel on the left side of the door.
- Middle statue: pull the beams upward and rotate clockwise. The top beam must align with the first jewel on the left side of the door. The bottom beam must align with the fourth jewel on the left side of the door.
- Right statue: pull the beams to the left and rotate counterclockwise. The top beam must align with the second jewel on the left side of the door. Likewise, the bottom beam must align with the second jewel on the right side of the door. Once this statue is aligned, players can progress toward gaining more treasure and participating in more puzzles in Uncharted 4.
