In celebration of the season, Naughty Dog has revealed some horrifying turkey monstrosities which were cut from multiplayer could be missing from Uncharted 4 on PS5 and PC.
The Uncharted franchise has come a long way, and its most recent iteration is broadly considered to be a standout title on PlayStation 4. The series' fame has propelled it to such cultural renown that it will soon receive a major motion picture, starring Tom Holland as the main character Nathan Drake. The disparity between Nathan's in-game appearance and his portrayal by the comparatively youthful Tom Holland has raised some eyebrows, but Neil Druckmann, director of Uncharted 4, has expressed excitement for the movie. It is set to release on February 18, 2022.
But while some fans are looking forward to this new movie, franchise developer Naughty Dog is looking back to some of the features that didn't make the cut in the games themselves. In celebration of Thanksgiving, the developer has taken to Twitter to share images of a pair of cut characters that would be used in a seasonal theme for Uncharted 3. The characters are titled "Evil Turkey" and "Good Turkey" and they are both horrifying amalgamations of turkey and human. The evil turkey is considerably more muscular and imposing than its "good" counterpart, which is featherless, lumpy, and wretched. Despite the morality that has been ascribed to each turkey, both look frightful in their own ways, and one can only imagine how it would have gone if these monstrosities had actually appeared in-game.

Despite the absence of horrifying turkey people, Uncharted 3 remained a memorable title. The game celebrated its tenth anniversary this very year, and earlier in the month, of the development team came together to reflect on their favorite moments from Uncharted 3. None of them mentioned working on these turkey creatures, but that might be because Naughty Dog was saving the reveal of the creatures for Thanksgiving. Uncharted 3 does have a lot of memorable features that did make it into the final game, though, like the iconic cargo plane sequence, which looks to be getting replicated in the film.
As the video game industry continues to advance and expand, it's always interesting to see what gets left behind as major titles get released. Uncharted 3 might not have suffered by its removal of these monstrous fowl, but they certainly make for a unique piece of video game history nonetheless.
