What This Means For Twisted Metal Season 2

We Are Getting Closer To Meeting Several Key Characters

This update puts the show closer to releasing its new episodes, and the first looks at the tournament will likely happen soon. The first major new addition to the Twisted Metal cast in season 2 was confirmed as the Emmy-nominated Barry star Anthony Carrigan. He'll play Calypso, the pivotal video game character. Described as the mysterious and charismatic creator of the dangerous tournament, Calypso invites all assassins, vigilantes, and anyone else to participate. In the video games on which the series is based, Calypso offers a prize to the winner. But his gift is not what it seems, often coming in the form of a cruel twist.

At the end of Twisted Metal season 1, there were hints of the video game's main antagonist Calypso, as he will make a significant impact in season 2.

Carrigan, who played NoHo Hank on HBO's Barry, is one of several new additions. Saylor Bell Curda (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), Michael James Shaw (The Walking Dead), and Lisa Gilroy (Jury Duty) the ensemble, as do Richard de Klerk, Tiana Okoye, and Patty Guggenheim, who stole scenes as Madisynn on She-Hulk. Even though character details are under wraps, it's known that characters like Axel, Dollface, and Mr. Grimm will factor into season 2.

The main Twisted Metal Cast also includes Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, wrestler Samoa Joe, and the voice of Will Arnett as Sweet Tooth.

The additions come after an eventful Twisted Metal season 1 ending. A confrontation between John Doe and Neve Campbell's character, Raven, looks to set the stage for the deadly tournament that fans of the video game will be eager to see. This would help to explain the flurry of new faces and the introduction of Calypso. With filming now wrapped, previews will likely drop at the beginning of 2025, and the release will soon follow at some point in the summer or fall of the year.

Our Take On Twisted Metal Season 2

The Tournament Is Crucial

Relative to the size of Peacock, Twisted Metal's first installment became a hit and appeared on Nielsen's streaming charts. It's one of the few Peacock Originals to have that distinction. However, given that the wild car tournament is the draw of the series, a lot of its future fortunes depend on how the story is executed. But thankfully, with filming completed, even though there is no release date announced currently, audiences are closer to seeing how it unfolds.
