Warning: This list contains spoilers for all of The Twilight Saga.

Summary

  • The audience wants to see more of Twilight's side characters who have interesting backstories and potential spinoffs.
  • The Storytellers competition demonstrates fans' interest in the lives of side characters, particularly Alice.
  • Several side characters, such as Victoria and Benjamin, have intriguing backstories that would make for great spinoffs.

Stephenie Meyer introduced a large cast of characters in The Twilight Saga, including many interesting vampires and werewolves. The ing cast includes several acclaimed actors who could certainly carry their own Twilight spinoffs. Some of the audience might be frustrated by the movies when they want to see more of their favorite side characters.

Twilight Saga's ing characters would have made more interesting stories. This is true of both characters who appear in several of the movies, such as Jasper (Jackson Rathbone), Alice (Ashley Greene), and Leah (Julia Jones), as well as those who only appear briefly towards the end. In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, the Cullens recruit various witnesses to testify to the Volturi that Renesmee is not a vampire child. This leads to the introduction of a variety of vampires whose lives span several centuries and countries.

10 Alice Cullen

Alice's story is summarized in the Twilight novels.

While Alice's backstory is explained in the Twilight novels, it is left out of the movies. In the first book, Alice does not who she was before becoming a vampire, but eventually discovers that she was born Mary Alice Brandon in 1901. She had some precognitive ability as a human which led to her being committed. A vampire who worked at the asylum where Alice was held grew to care for her. This vampire turned Alice and sacrificed himself to save her from James. When she became a vampire, Alice's ability to see the future grew stronger and she saw her future with Jasper and the Cullens.

In 2014, Meyer partnered with Lionsgate to create a competition to create short films about Twilight side characters (via stephaniemeyer.com). Contestants were gradually eliminated based on their screenplays and finalists were eventually given production funding. The final series of winners comprises 7 short films and is called The Storytellers: New Voices of the Twilight Saga. 3 of the short films — The Mary Alice Brandon File, The Groundskeeper, and We've Met Before — are about Alice, demonstrating fans' interest in her life.

9 Charlie Swan

Charlie's character is underused in Twilight.

Charlie swan in Twilight

the Cullens are supernatural, he does not ask too many questions. However, Charlie is a fan-favorite character and a spinoff where he is forced to confront the existence of vampires more directly would likely be a hit.

8 Garrett Of The Denali Coven

Garrett s the Denali Coven after Breaking Dawn.

Garret and Kate in Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt 2.

Garrett (Lee Pace) is a former nomadic vampire who appears in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Garrett and Carlisle Cullen (Peter Facinelli) met during the Revolutionary War after Garrett was accidentally turned by an unknown vampire during a battle. Garrett supposedly spends many years on his own, which would provide ample material for a spinoff. He becomes intrigued by the Cullens' and the Denalis' lifestyle of living off of human blood and falls in love with Kate (Casey LaBow) of the Denalis. He s her coven after the events of Breaking Dawn. Garrett also appears in the Storytellers short film Turncoats, which focuses on Carlisle during the war.

Twilight: 10 Most Underrated Characters That Deserve As Much Recognition as the Main Cast

In the Twilight series, there is a core set of characters that get the most attention, but the franchise has many other characters that deserve love.

7 Victoria

Victoria's dedication to James is never fully explored.

Victoria looking angry in The Twilight Saga Eclipse

Victoria's backstory from long before she met James and Laurent would be an interesting spinoff. Screenwriters could further explore Victoria's cunning nature, which is only occasionally discussed in The Twilight Saga.

6 Jane Of The Volturi

Jane and her brother Alec are high-ranking of the Volturi.

Jane (Dakota Fanning) and her twin brother Alec (Cameron Bright) were both turned by Aro (Michael Sheen) at a young age because they showed the potential to be powerful vampires. Jane is respected within the Volturi because of her ability to cause intense pain; those around her are constantly afraid of angering her. She is also expertly portrayed by Fanning. How Jane became a dedicated and cruel member of the Volturi would be a fascinating yet morbid movie or TV series. Another Storytellers short film, Consumed, shows Jane and Alec as humans and their transformation.

5 Leah Clearwater

Leah is the only known female werewolf.

Leah Clearwater from the Twilight saga

Leah is the only female member of the Quileute werewolf pack. She and her brother Seth (Booboo Stewart) are the first to Jacob's (Taylor Lautner) pack, separate from Sam's (Chaske Spencer). Leah grapples with heartbreak and grief: She was abandoned by Sam when he imprinted on Emily (Tinsel Korey) and her werewolf transformation was triggered by her father's death. Leah's story is still not fully resolved at the end of Breaking Dawn, and a spinoff about her could show her making her way — with or without Seth and Jacob.

4 Vladimir Of The Romanian Coven

Vladimir and Stefan's characters allude to Dracula.

Vladimir and Stefan in Twilight

Vladimir (Noel Fisher) and Stefan (Guri Weinberg) are the only remaining of the Romanian Coven. This coven was the ruling force in the vampire world before they were almost all killed by the Volturi. The Romanian coven later tried to overthrow the Volturi in a battle that demonstrated the powers of Jane and Alec and resulted in the death of Vladimir's mate, making him and Stefan their coven's only survivors.

Vladimir and Stefan arrive to the Cullens against the Volturi hoping for another chance to defeat the Volturi with the of other vampires. An adaptation of Vladimir's backstory would supposedly be dominated by themes of revenge and overthrown regimes. It is also not confirmed if Count Dracula was ever a member of Vladimir's coven, but this would be an amazing tie-in that would connect The Twilight Saga to broader vampire pop culture.

3 Benjamin Of The Egyptian Coven

Rami Malek's Twilight character is underused.

Rami Malek in Breaking Dawn Pt 2

Rami Malek plays the small role of Benjamin in Breaking Dawn Part 2, a vampire who can control the elements. He is also the focus of the Storytellers short film Sunrise. Benjamin has one of the most interesting abilities seen in Twilight. His life as a human and transformation are the makings of a great story, especially since vampires in Twilight demonstrate some indication of their specific supernatural gifts while they are still human. Additionally, Malek is a brilliant actor who could certainly lead a longer movie or series about Benjamin and his mate Tia (Angela Sarafyan), and their coven mates Amun (Omar Metwally) and Kebi (Andrea Gabriel).

Twilight: All 8 Vampire Covens Explained (& How They're Different)

The Cullen family weren't the only vampires in the Twilight universe, and there were other covens with different lifestyles. Here's every one of them.

2 Aro Of The Volturi

Aro's spinoff could show the Volturi's origins.

Aro in Twilight

Aro, the leader of the Volturi, is portrayed by acclaimed actor Michael Sheen. Aro's rise to power included killing his own sister to prevent her from leaving the Volturi with Marcus (Christopher Heyerdahl). He also regularly seeks out humans with the potential to have powerful gifts as vampires. He and the Volturi are swift and brutal when dealing with any threat. For example, they eliminated Victoria and her sister Anne's entire coven and executed the Denalis' mother after she created an immortal child. Aro's story of what he has done to gain more power over the thousands of years he has been a vampire would be a great TV series.

1 Jasper Hale

Jasper's backstory could be much longer than a few pages.

Jasper's backstory is also covered in the Twilight books and movies, but it could be expanded into a longer format. He was born Jasper Whitlock but later uses Rosalie's (Nikki Reed) surname, so they can tell the people of Forks that they are siblings. Jasper was a major in the Confederate Army before he was turned by the vampire Maria (Catalina Sandino Moreno).

Jasper and Maria worked together for decades, creating and destroying newborn vampires to form an army to gain control of more territory. Jasper grew tired of killing the newborns when they outlived their usefulness and eventually left Maria. Jasper and other ing characters of The Twilight Saga could easily become the protagonists of spinoffs more interesting than the original movies.
