Throughout its runtime, the film also presents several twists and turns that keep viewers hooked till its credits start rolling. One of the twists seems to perfectly pave the way for a Decepticon and Unicron collaboration in the next live-action Transformers film.

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Confirms Earth Is A Rich Source Of Energon

Energon's immense value would make a great plot device in Transformers 8

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has a tragic opening arc where Bumblebee dies when the Autobots duke it out with Unicron's Terrorcon heralds. However, with a surprising twist of events, the film's final arc shows Bumblebee lying on a giant energon ore. Although the ore initially seems inactive, the Transwarp key activates the energon-filled valley surrounding the Autobot. The energon ore becomes so potent after activation that it brings Bumblebee back to life, proving how valuable it can be to other Cybertronians or species.

The fact that the energon in Transformers: Rise of Beasts revives Bumblebee proves that it is one of the rarest forms of the naturally occurring resource.

According to Transformers' original lore, energon is fuel for the titular race. Pure and powerful sources of energon can not only revive Transformers but even trigger impressive changes in their transformations. However, as Transformers' original lore suggests, true energon can rarely be found in the universe. The fact that the energon in Transformers: Rise of Beasts revives Bumblebee proves that it is one of the rarest forms of the naturally occurring resource. Considering its immense value, Transformers 8 can effectively use it as a plot device in its storyline.

Earth's Energon Resources Give Decepticons A Solid Reason To Invade The Planet

The War for Cybertron must have depleted Cybertron's energon

At some point in Transformers' original lore, the War for Cybertron leads to the depletion of all-natural sources of energon on Cybertron. Since the Transformers race needs energon for survival, they start using artificial substitutes for the fuel, which do not offer as many benefits as its rarified version. Since the War for Cybertron has been going on for quite some time even in the live-action reboot movies, it won't be long before all of Cybertron's natural energon will get depleted. This will mark the inception of a new mission for the Decepticons who invaded Cybertron.

Once Cybertron becomes useless, the Decepticons could set their eyes on Earth because of the abundance of energon it offers. Although the Autobots have taken it upon themselves to protect Earth from otherworldly threats after the events of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the Decepticons will likely not even fear them because they were previously able to take over Cybertron and force the Autobots to flee to Earth. The ongoing war between the Decepticons and the Autobots and the Decepticons' hunt for a new energon source perfectly paves the way for the Decepticons' arrival on Earth in Transformers 8.

Earth's Energon Could Fuel Unicron's Appetite For Planets In Transformers 8

Unicron would be drawn to Earth's energon

Towards the end of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Unicron fails to devour Earth because Optimus Prime destroys the Transwarp key in the nick of time. Since Unicron must be infuriated by his Transformers: Rise of the Beasts defeat and would want to seek revenge from the Autobots, he already seems to have a strong reason to return to Earth in Transformers 8 and attempt to devour it. Once he figures out that Earth also has rich Energon ores, his appetite to consume the planet will reach new heights, driving him to unleash his full might on the Autobots' new home.

Since Energon serves as fuel for Transformers and Earth has a highly potent source of it, Unicron will likely see Earth as a primary target to enhance his abilities and fulfill his insatiable hunger in Transformers 8.

In Transformers: Rise of the Beast's original lore, Unicron is naturally capable of bending space and time and traveling large distances across the multiverse. By showing that Unicron is trying to acquire the Transwarp Key to achieve these abilities, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts establishes that the planet-devouring being is weak and has not reached his full potential. Since Energon serves as fuel for Transformers and Earth has a highly potent source of the substance, Unicron will likely see Earth as a primary target to enhance his abilities and fulfill his insatiable hunger in Transformers 8.

Transformers 7's G.I. Joe Reveal Makes The Best John Cena Bumblebee Theory Possible

Since the Autobots overpowered Unicron's army of Terrorcons in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' ending and Optimus Prime killed Scourge, Unicron will have to look for new allies in Transformers 8. Since the Decepticons would also want to destroy the Autobots and get their hands on Earth's energon, the planet-eating beast could recruit them as his new heralds. The Decepticons and Unicron may ultimately end up in each other's crosshairs because of their shared goal of acquiring the Earth's energon. However, after Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' energon reveal, their initial collaboration in Transformers 8 would make perfect sense.

Together, Unicron and the Decepticons would be a force to be reckoned with, making it nearly impossible for the Autobots to defeat them. However, since the Autobots now have direct access to Earth's energon, they could use it to enhance their abilities and transformations. Not to mention, with Unicron and the Decepticons as their common enemies, the Autobots and G.I. could team up to save Earth from the potential destruction the Transformers species could cause in Transformers 8.
