Transformers 8 is expected to pick up after the end of Rise of the Beasts, which leaves the door open for most of the Autobots seen thus far in the live-action films to return. Rise of the Beasts takes place in 1994, which places it earlier in the timeline than every Transformers movie besides Bumblebee. This means any Autobots who might have died in other Transformers films still have a chance of appearing in Transformers 8. With that in mind, there are plenty of Autobots to choose from when picking Optimus' team, but nine of them are clear standouts.

9 Ironhide — Weapons Specialist

Optimus Prime's Transformers 8 team would get off to a strong start by including Ironhide. This tough-as-nails Autobot is one of Optimus Prime's oldest and most loyal companions. Known for his weapons expertise and relentless attitude in combat, Ironhide has plenty of potential to create a spectacle if he appears in Transformers 8. He would also make a valuable addition to Optimus' team because his forwardness and practicality can provide a nice balance to Optimus' cautious idealism. Ironhide is also a beloved member of Optimus' original crew in the 2007 movie, so his return would create nostalgia as well.

8 Ratchet — Medic

Ratchet is the Autobots' medic, and another character who should definitely be included in Optimus Prime's Transformers 8 team. Ratchet is unique among most transformers in that his only desire is to heal things and find lasting peace in the universe. He only fights when absolutely necessary, though he can be extremely dangerous when provoked. In the Transformers live-action timeline, Ratchet is probably the best medic on either side of the Transformers, and with elite fighting skills to boot, it's tough to find a better Transformers 8 teammate for Optimus Prime.

7 Jazz — First Lieutenant

Jazz is one of the most memorable Autobots to only appear in one Transformers live-action movie, so it would be great to see his character get another chance on the big screen in Transformers 8. Jazz is one of the most talkative and positive Autobots, and he proves himself to be completely unflappable. His sacrifice in the original Transformers movie also proves that he is courageous and dedicated to the Autobots' cause. With impressive fighting skills on top of all that, Jazz could be a valuable member of Optimus' team in Transformers 8.

6 Dino — Warrior

Dino is a controversial Autobot due to his general dislike of humans, but there's no doubt his fighting ability would be a great asset to Optimus Prime's team in Transformers 8. Dino's Cybertronian alloy blades make him incredibly deadly in combat, and his extreme tenacity only makes him more dangerous. He also has the ability to cloak himself from sight, and his alternate mode of a Ferrari 458 Italia is one of the fastest cars any Transformer takes the form of, so he could be a truly compelling addition to Transfromers 8's Autobot roster.

5 Arcee — Hunter

Another Autobot who would make for a valuable addition to Optimus Prime's Transformers 8 team is Arcee, one of the fastest and most aggressive Autobots in the live-action films. Arcee is a hunter at heart, and she was trained by Ironhide to translate her hunting skills into combat. She often fights by striking quickly before retreating beyond her opponent's retaliatory blow. Arcee has a deep desire to prove herself, and her personality could help add some depth to the Autobots, who often lack nuance as characters.

Bumblebee is probably the most beloved character in the Transformers franchise, and it would be a shock for him not to appear in Optimus Prime's team of Autobots in Transformers 8. Bumblebee is the Transformer who captured the hearts of millions of fans in the original 2007 Transformers movie, and he has remained the center of the franchise ever since then. He is the only Autobot to have a full live-action made about him, proving his legendary status in the franchise. If one Autobot absolutely has to be included in Optimus Prime's Transformers 8 team, it's Bumblebee.

3 Sideswipe — Warrior

Sideswipe is one of the deadliest fighters among the Autobots, and his prowess in battle could be a critical part of Transformers 8 if he were to be included in Optimus Prime's team. Sideswipe uses a combination of powerful blades and rapid-fire canons to overwhelm his opponents with a deluge of successive attacks. Optimus Prime will need medics and scouts like Ratchet and Bumblebee in Transformers 8, but he will also need some powerful Autobots to provide brute strength and protection. Few Autobots fit that bill better than Sideswipe.

2 Wheeljack — Quartermaster/Armorer

Wheeljack is the Autobots' quartermaster and armorer, and his wisdom and technological skills could be a powerful asset to Optimus Prime's team in Transformers 8. In addition to being the armorer for the Autobots, Wheeljack is a brilliant inventor who comes up with all kinds of new weapons and other forms of technology. His talent as an innovator could prove invaluable to Optimus' squad, and his general wisdom could also provide crucial guidance. Wheeljack is one of the oldest Autobots, meaning he would have plenty of information to share in Transformers 8.

1 Leadfoot — Scientist/Soldier

Leadfoot, one of Ironhide's close friends, is another Autobot who would fit well into Optimus Prime's Transformers 8 team. Leadfoot is known for inventing new weapons with Ironhide, a skill that could prove critical in Transformers 8. The film would also benefit from bringing back a couple of iconic Autobot friendships, and Leadfoot and Ironhide's is one of the best. Furthermore, including Leadfoot would mean his pet cyber-dog, Steeljaw, could also appear, which could help provide some welcome comic relief. Leadfoot is also a prodigious warrior, and his combat skills could help the Autobots a lot in Transformers 8.
