A devastating Tracker season 2 has been rather odd at times, incorporating supernatural phenomena in its storytelling despite its grounded roots. That said, it maintains Colter at the center of its narrative, as he solves his weekly cases while also actively trying to resolve the 10-year mystery of Gina's disappearance — a narrative introduced at the top of Tracker season 2.
ittedly, there have been a lot of things happening in Colter's life that don't tie to his weekly cases this year. Robin Weigert's Tracker season 2 exit remains a lingering storyline, as Teddi's fate in the actual show is still hanging. Reenie, on the other hand, has founded her law firm, although the procedural has barely focused on it. Elsewhere, the Shaw family mystery doesn't have any substantial updates either. Luckily, however, Colter may be getting close to finding out what happened to Gina, but the culprit he is looking for may be hiding in plain sight.
Keaton Is Involved In Gina Picket's Disappearance Theory Explained
Colter Is Being Betrayed
Coming into Tracker season 2, part 2, Gina's case will be heavily focused on, hinting that Colter may be about to resolve it. Considering everything else happening in the series, addressing the narrative as soon as possible is arguably for the best, so the show's storytelling can move forward. One theory about the matter, however, ties Tracker season 2 fan-favorite Keaton to the case long before he met Colter in "Trust Fall." The pair met in Snoqualmie National Forest, while they were separately solving their respective cases. Colter and Keaton developed an immediate camaraderie, and the usually aloof tracker tapped his new friend's help in finding Gina.

Why Robin Weigert's Teddi Bruin Left Tracker After Season 1
Robin Weigert starred as Teddi Bruin in the main cast of Tracker season 1, but the actress left the show prior to the season 2 premiere.
Since then, however, Colter has gotten major updates on the case, which is quite impressive, but also suspicious. It's worth noting that the rewardist knows virtually nothing about Keaton, other than him being a retired cop. This could be possibly explained by his connection to the culprit that actually took Gina. Keaton presenting himself as an ally could be the villain's way of pointing Colter in the wrong direction, so he never finds the truth about what happened to his unsolved case.
How Keaton's Possible Betrayal Could Change Colter Forever
Colter Isn't Your Typical Lone Wolf
For someone who deals with a lot of bad guys for a living, Colter can be easily trusting. That being said, it doesn't mean that he can't eventually realize that he's being fooled, resulting in an immediate confrontation that leads to him resolving the case. Things are different with Keaton, however, because the pair immediately struck a camaraderie from the day that they met. It's clear that Colter trusts the retired police that he even get him involved in the case that has been haunting him for a decade.
What sets Hartley's hero apart from similar characters is that he usually maintains an optimistic persona.
If Keaton ends up betraying Colter, this could be the inciting incident that could make the tracker a more stereotypical lone wolf in stories — closed-off and always skeptical. What sets Hartley's hero apart from similar characters is that he usually maintains an optimistic persona. Granted that he likes to operate on his own, but he isn't always or always angry. Keaton's betrayal can change that in Tracker season 2.
