Unfortunately, Tracker character is a survivalist who earns his wage by accepting jobs from private citizens or law enforcement agencies to (usually) find missing people. Although Colter has a team that helps him from the sidelines, he typically faces his cases alone.

CBS releases new episodes of Tracker season 2 on Sundays at 8 pm ET.

Over the course of Tracker's two seasons, Colter has encountered a wide variety of cases across the country. From finding a kidnapped racehorse to trying to solve a mystery featuring aliens, Colter has seen it all. He has proven himself capable of handling almost any obstacle thrown his way. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean Colter has to or should be alone while trying to find answers in Tracker.

Tracker Season 2's Most Entertaining Episodes Are When Colter Has A Partner

Colter Needs Someone Beside Him In The Field

The whole premise of Tracker is that Colter is a lone wolf who prefers to work alone, which is why he has chosen the profession he is in. While that setup worked at first, and occasionally still does, it's time for Colter to get a partner. Yes, he has a team working for him in the shadows. However, if season 2, episode 17, "Memories," taught us anything, it's that the show would significantly benefit from Colter getting a sidekick to assist him in the field.

"Memories" isn't the first Tracker season 2 episode featuring Colter tracking with a partner by his side, and most of them have been one of the few highlights of the season.

Despite Randy being a new character, it was a joy to watch him work with Colter to find his ex-girlfriend's friend. Their dynamic was fun, and it brought something new to the series. However, "Memories" isn't the first Tracker season 2 episode featuring Colter tracking with a partner by his side, and most of them have been one of the few highlights of the season. From Colter working with Keaton in episode 9 to Reenie in episode 4, it's almost always a good time when the protagonist has a sidekick, which is why he should have a permanent one in season 3.

Colter Has Many Choices To Choose From For His Partner

Tracker Episode 10 Review Featured Image_Basic

Thankfully, CBS has already renewed Tracker for a third season, and Colter could realistically get a sidekick in the episodes. We can rule out some candidates for the job, like Reenie and Randy. Reenie is a lawyer with her own practice — she doesn't have time to run around with Colter solving cases. Meanwhile, Randy would be a good choice based on episode 17, but his hacking skills require him to stay behind a computer while Colter is in the field.

If Colter and Billie give their romance a real shot, she could be his permanent partner in season 3. However, it would likely only end in heartbreak, given their history and characters. Keaton or Russell would also be good prospects, with Keaton being a much more probable candidate than Russell, given Jensen Ackles' busy schedule. Or Tracker season 3 could introduce someone new to fill the role of Colter's sidekick, which would certainly keep the show fresh.
