Tim Roth Likely Won't Be In Another Marvel Movie

If you were hoping to one day see Tim Roth reprise his Iron Man released in 2008 and officially launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the second installment in the burgeoning franchise hit theaters: Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk, starring Edward Norton as the eponymous character.

Despite being the second MCU installment, Marvel Studios continues to disregard its existence. Whereas storylines from every other movie play integral roles in the overarching universe, the only instance in which The Incredible Hulk was referenced was through William Hurt's inclusion as Thunderbolt Ross in Anthony and Joe Russo's some of the characters return in the future, such as Abomination.

Roth played Emil Blonsky, aka the Abomination, in The Incredible Hulk. Blonsky was a British Royal Marines commando who worked alongside Thunderbolt Ross in the U.S. government's attempts to capture the Hulk. In order to level the playing field, Blonsky had Dr. Samuel Sterns inject him with a formula that combined the super-soldier serum with Banner's blood, thereby turning him into an "abomination." Since the film released, Roth's Abomination has remained absent, and despite the actor previously saying that Avengers: Age of Ultron, he now says (via Reddit) it's unlikely that he'll ever appear in another Marvel movie.

"I don't think Marvel will ever use me again, but it would be fun."

The whereabouts of Roth's Abomination is one of the many Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and kept themselves apprised of the universe's supplemental material, such as Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant, know that Abomination was taken into custody following his battle with Hulk in Harlem. Interestingly, before Hulk ed the Avengers initiative, the World Security Council originally planned on having Abomination the Avengers. Thankfully, S.H.I.E.L.D. prevented that from happening.

Since there aren't currently any plans to give Hulk another solo movie, it seems rather futile to even consider bringing back Abomination at this time. But, if Marvel Studios ever does decide to give Ruffalo his own film - instead of attaching him to other heroes' movies, such as Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok - perhaps they'll consider approaching Roth for another go-around.
