Director Luca Guadagnino is working on an American Psycho remake. Taking over the role of Patrick Bateman after Christian Bale played it so perfectly in the original movie is a tall order. However, I feel like Penn Badgley's experience as Joe Goldberg over five seasons of Netflix's You makes him perfect for the character. While I understand how it might not be the most creative casting choice, Badgley would be pitch-perfect at depicting Bateman's sociopathic persona and make the hyper-masculine bravado as entertaining as Bale did.
