Benedict Cumberbatch recently offered an intriguing update on <em>Doctor Strange 3</em>, assuring he's still open to returning for the Marvel Cinematic Universe threequel and revealing that Marvel is just as open to discussing desired directors and storylines with him as their own planning for the franchise's future. With the door open for other directors to come onboard for the threequel, part of me would like to see Sam Raimi return, as I adore his style and think it's perfect for the <em>Doctor Strange </em>universe. That said, if they look elsewhere, I do also think that Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead would be a great choice, as even before their work on <em>Loki </em>and <em>Moon Knight</em>, they showed a remarkable grip on mind-bending filmmaking with <em>The Endless </em>and <em>Synchronic </em>that would also work great for the character.
