One Piece and Naruto are two of the biggest manga/anime franchises of all time, and both famously used a time skip to move their characters forward. While the transition from Naruto to Shippuden saw the series' young cast mature from pre-teens to teenagers, One Piece's time skip was much more about having the Straw Hat pirates refine their already sharp abilities.
