Paramount+'s Halo show recently became a major hit on Netflix after being cancelled by the rival streamer in 2024, a surprising resurgence given the show was largely critiqued in its debut season. Though it was far from perfect, I've always held to the fact that gaming fans were far too critical of Halo as a whole, rather than looking at individual elements being weaker, like Master Chief's frequent helmet removal. The show did well to mix original storytelling with game lore, though season 2 was the real saving grace for the show in my mind, as it properly built the bridge to the games, and I'm still disappointed it got cancelled right as things were getting good.
