HBO's new Harry Potter television series has just announced that they are holding an open casting call for the big three - Harry, Ron, and Hermione. This opens up doors for newcomers to the acting world to potentially be cast as the three leads of the show. I think this is a brilliant idea as I would love to see these main characters be played by complete unknowns. These are not only major roles, this is going to be a big time commitment for the children who book the jobs as the series will span seven seasons. It would be nice to have kids come in that are not known for anything else. They already have some big shoes to fill, it will be better off for them if they are not being compared to any previous roles they might have had.
