While I know he was part of the Empire, I have to say that I had grown quite fond of Syril over Andor's two seasons. Episode 8 is one of the show's best, and I loved how it showed Syril that his doubts were real. We see the man realize that everything he had done in his life for the Empire up to that point had been to help a nefarious organization. I wanted to see Syril's complex layers be explored beyond that reveal, but his tragic death came soon after that, and I think it squandered his remaining potential.
